Today we start building the train tunnel entrance into the cliff edge. There was a lot of trial and error in the process but I think we got a good start on our first modular. Now I just have to decide where the Ninjago temple is going to go and how to integrate it into the scene. In addition to working on this, we also build some curve road plates and integrate them into the LEGO city.

Love the idea. What you could consider is having the temple pagoda be raised midway to the top platform, sort of like cut into the cliffside. Then you could have a small cliff path that leads up from Ninjago, to the temple, to the the lookout above the tunnel entrance too.

What you could do, is Maybe put the temple on top of that rock Edge and then to the right of it, where the Gap is between it and the modulars, you could put a little parking / sitting area that has steps leading up to the temple, and a little Rental Station for little scooters and bikes and stuff that the minifigure ride on that walkway. And then down the side of the cliff Edge to the left of the temple there could be Little Steps leading down to baby dogs that you can take boats out to Ninjago City🤔 love the progress though

I think Spring Lantern Festival should go at the top of the new raised platform, with a winding pathway down half the height to the Temple, and then connecting it to either the sidewalk, or maybe a boardwalk along the edge of Ninjago City Lake?

Great ideas and changes. I think the temple with can go on a platform on the end where you built the platform but maybe it sinks down as opposed to the same level. Some temples have maybe q few steps down and they have a little area a pond and then maybe a long steep stairwell down to ninjago village where the merch shops start.

For your ninjago section at the train tunnel you should put the large building up top and have the smaller ones inside the train tunnel with lights in it. have it be a little cave city that you can look into from the tunnel entrance and add some holes in the rock face to see in as well. i think that would look awesome

you can probably just tile off the green baseplate with brown/dark/tan/dbg that the curved track will just rest on.
@marktegrotenhuis

Where the train crosses the road after coming out of the tunnel, I would maybe put a rounded corner tile on the side of the inner radius. Or something like that, because there's a curve inside the tunnel and it sounds like the wheel flanges are hitting the edge of the plates/tiles between the rails there. I think that doesn't have anything to do with the difference in height of the track.
@Peter_McNutt
@Peter_McNutt 2 жыл бұрын
I like the raised temple, maybe you could create an underground tunnel onto the train tunnel overlook? Could one of the rock panels be removed to do this? A steep staircase up to the temple would make it look like something from an ancient Asian type temple.

We were just watching your video for today and as you were building the tunnel entrance for the train, I was just telling my husband maybe he should elevate the temple. Then you showed a platform and talked about raising it, and I am thinking, yes, except not as high as the platform. More like it is kind of built into the edge of the cliff. (Another idea: You could also have the tunnel entrance come out perpendicular to how it is and right up against the edge of the end of the raised platform. That would leave you with a little more table space if you needed it.)
@CakeNO
@CakeNO 2 жыл бұрын
I think the temple could go even higher, inspired by the mountain temples of China that sit on very tall mountain tops. The two smaller buildings that came with the temple set could then be placed on either side - one in a park at street level in the gap between the modulars and the temple, and the other one halfway down the cliff edge leading down into the Ninjago area with a winding pathway.

Great vlog. Always like to see you build your own moc. For the temple I would : 1- use your medieval cascade curve along the wall, 2- have a small shack on the ground, 3- a little walkway through the mountains 4- another shack midway 5- and then the temple on the platform.

hey jordan, the ticking at the tunnel exit has to do with the train wheels hitting the sidewalk or road part. it isnt the elevation. may help with it but the biggest part about is it the curve and then strait part the train has to do. had the same problems myself in my own city.

Hey Jordan, enjoyed the vlog, like seeing ideas in progress and developing. You definitely need to hide or replace the coloured pieces in the tunnel entrance plus make the exposed MILS edges solid dark bluish grey because light from the front will still show that area. The temple should be halfway up, same thoughts as Daniel Chee below. Also in line with another comment the tunnel entrance could be light bluish grey to use the arches you have plus it would match the 'man-made' cement sections further along. Just a few thoughts but still think it's looking great, ordered more parts myself to continue my MILS building, amazing how quickly they run out..! Great work 👍😀

Really nice tunnel entrance! Awesome job! I am not a fan of the road curves though, I would personally keep them pretty much 90° angles, maybe round the corner like you did with the inner curve. I don't like that the white lines kind of go under the curb. But that's just my OCD I guess. :D

Train tunnel looks good! I like your idea about extending the modular buildings on top of the tunnel, and maybe then keep that mountain side going behind ninjago and in the corner of the walls put the temple back there, you could still raise it up so it’s higher than ninjago and have a path leading up to it and still build it moving towards the camp ground area. I think it would look good because it would add some height to the opposite end of the skyscrapers instead of the middle were the forest/ninjago area meets with the city. Looking forward to seeing the tunnel come together!
