Just wow. Really nice. Thank you for making the "making of" video, it is really interesting to see how your GBC module develops from scratch. This module would deserve some more rigid supports, because it looks slightly weird when it goes on i's max speed and the structure is wobbling. ;)

This is great! You should make another version called snow peas where there are additional middle squiggles that make the loader and unloader farther apart from each other. There would be an additional arm in the middle that moves the carts forward but doesn't touch the ball

Nice design! I wonder if one could make it with twice as many carts by letting each turntable have two sides where they can hold a cart. The insertion part must have a switch to pop out a ball on one side and then on the other and the output part jsut needs to be copied. This doesnt seem too difficult to me, but i dont think i have all the necessary parts to test it.
@mahj5 жыл бұрын
Great concept. I'm looking forward to seeing this live, copied by less talented GBC builders.

how do you keep these running smoothly? have you experimented with graphite/grease?
@BerthilvanBeek5 жыл бұрын
Akiyuki himself says the module should run with lubrication on his webste, from experience with these machines I can say teflon (PTFE) works the best.

wouldn't this work if the motor went backwards too?
@BerthilvanBeek5 жыл бұрын
No, it would jam on the ball pump pusher, it needs to be pushed up from the bottom. If reversed it would just try to push it deeper down which isn't possible..

Is it possible to have two sides to each arm so there are 4 carts spinning around?
@epleprekahn42385 жыл бұрын
Adding a second set of cars wouldn't be too difficult, but only one pair would be able to feed balls. The other two cars would just be empty. Although I could see setting up a second in box and out ramp on the side pass arms. That could work. Though the pass arms would have less time to make the pickup.
@alexharkler5 жыл бұрын
@@epleprekahn4238 If there were a consistent way to separate the balls at the top of the pump it might be possible. The pump would have to work 2x as fast though. The main axles and gears would also have to work under 2x the load.
@epleprekahn42385 жыл бұрын
There are four arms that move the carts. Two of those arms are just passing the carts on. I was thinking put a second in ramp on the first passer bar and a second picker on the second passer bar. That way you could have a pair of red carts that are loaded/unloaded on the outside of the nut, and a pair of blue carts loading/unloading on the inside.
@alexharkler5 жыл бұрын
@@epleprekahn4238 Unfortunately, the loader and unloader do appear to take at least 180° to function properly, so idk if they would work on the shorter 90° corners.
