Pepper has a hero complex. he keeps releasing the Brickster so that he can 'save' the island, make catchphrases, etc. Mama Roni has brain damage, so she just keeps making pizza. She lost her hair in a failed surgery to fix it. Papa Roni is absolutely defeated and just enables his son along with his wife. Since his family owns the island(and won't let any other eateries be opened, hence only one eating place), no one can really say anything about it. The worst part is? It works. He becomes the island's "hero" by defeating Brickster, even though he is the one who keeps letting him out.

The loading times are totally awful when the game is running in fullscreen, in windowed mode it loads way faster. Apparently it’s since the game tried to update the pizza animation at a higher priority than actually loading the game data. I’m not sure why windowed mode is faster however, perhaps due to an accidental code error like the one that happened with the original game’s controls.

Chris Stewart When I was young, I was frustrated at many parts of the game. There were too many minigames and some were too difficult (because of the horrible controls) and others were too long. I just gave up at "Adventurers Island" and simply replayed the previous parts. I was able to finish the first and third Lego island games but not this garbage.

Am I the only person who absolutely loved this game as a kid but remembers it being nearly impossible?? I played it nonstop only to make hardly any progress most of the time. Just those short cut scenes that Moose was complaining about were literally like finding gold to me because it meant my hard work had finally paid off and I had actually managed to make some progress forward in the game. This guy is approaching this game as a full grown adult with the internet for help and nearly 20 years in the future. Back then this game was like the Dark Souls of Lego games. In fact if anything, Dark Souls is like the Lego Island 2 of PlayStation games

The adventure world is based on an old Lego theme called adventures. Johnny thunder,Pippin reed and the professor are all popular characters. Ogel was the main villain from alpha team,from about 2002 or so. It was Lego backwards,so either ogel was referencing the brickster's planet or they were just Easter eggs.

As a child, I spent HOURS occupying my time with this game. Mind you, I never made it to Adventure Island. Either I failed to complete the buttonmashing game of the Knight island, or the game crashing on my PC upon trying to load Adventure Island. A couple of years ago I did revisit this game for nostalgia sake. And it is awful lol. Nostalgia was the only driving force, but it's gotta be said, the shitty music track for the equally shitty skating minigame still rings in my mind to this day. Also, the load times are absolutely no joke. Even on modern systems.

The only part of the game that's worth re-playing to me was the whole Adventurers Island segment. You got to explore pyramids and egyptian temples, dodge mummies and boulders, drive a hot rod through a canyon, fish for a massive fish named "Big Bertha", fly a badass plane through a jungle filled with rock monsters and enemy monkeys, ride a tyrannosaur past different areas and obstacles, and rescue captured dinosaurs while battling one of the most wanted men in the LEGO Universe on the back of a brachiosaurus using a hot air balloon. The rest of the game was basically wandering around a "special" island filled with "special" people, doing boring minigames and tasks; traveling to a castle island where I wanted to fight the enemy knights, but was sucked into a DIVING minigame (yes, a DIVING minigame of all things to be on a CASTLE island) and a button-mashing joust with some moron in armor; and then there was the part of the game where you traveled into space and battled meteorite creatures, which was cool at first, but then to avoid slugs, throw pizza toppings at a chef holding some dough on the other side of a pizzeria, and then battling some jackass that is such a criminal because he dismantled idiot island and didn't pay for his pizza that he somehow broke out of jail with.

I remember playing this on my home computer in the early 2000s… loved it when it worked. The game started to crash on that Lego block startup and I never could finish it

most likely never as its almoste impossible for the game to run. it requires a patch which lego once gave a download link to but decided "this is just taking space and no one is using the game anymore". so downloading any patch for the game now gives viruses, lovley right? specially as i'm trying to get the game to work!

i take back my statement. it just requires a no-cd patch which can be done by having the disc and do some other things. to access the full game however you will require a save which is all the licenses for transport else you're gonna be stuck :)

TheCenneth A good chunk of IXS's problems (like boats glitching out, not being able to grind, etc) are related to the game freaking out at high framerates, and can be fixed by forcing v-sync on from your graphics control panel thingy. Doesn't keep the save files from sometimes corrupting though.

jamessterV2 the boat thing (atleast on my pc) is not because of the framerate. its because of the physics its just glitching out and sends the boat High up. i know this because i actully managed to half fix it while it was in it state and it was just up in the air over the skybox even

TheCenneth The physics glitching out is indeed due to high framerates (especially when the FPS goes into the hundreds, and on my moderately beefly laptop, sometimes 1000+ FPS). Jet skis in Wave Catcher freak out, Pepper is bounced long distances by BricksterBots and henchmen, etc. The physics go back to normal when the game is forced to run at the intended 60 FPS, either by starting to record with Fraps (which locks the framerate - I noticed the relation when I tried to record the jet ski physics problems with Fraps and everything instantly went back to normal when I started recording and the game was locked to 60 FPS) or forcing vsync on. Though, the boat glitching I was talking about was where on the main island, entering a boat will just give you a white screen. Like the jet ski physics, it's instantly fixed when you force the framerate down with Fraps, or if you've enabled vsync. LEGO Island 2 has some similar issues with the framerate screwing stuff up - the biplane minigame timer/fuel meter is tied to the framerate, so if you don't fix it you run out of fuel between pickups.
