I think MK unconsciously sees Wukong as his father and cares about him as if he were his own life, but he may not be able to accept it because he has never had a family all this time and partly because he is his mentor. By the way, I noticed something, even when Azure was attacking Wukong's scroll with his sword, Wukong protected MK because if MK had not had the scroll in front of him at that time, MK would have been seriously injured. I'm seriously watching this series just because of these two.

The bond between MK and wukong is one of the highlights of Lego Monkie Kid and one of the main reasons why I LOVE this show!!! Would like to see more. Bet it's been a long time since Nez Ha had seen wukong this protective of someone, since Tripitaka. Wukong also seems like a first time parent. Nobody gets it right the first time. But as you explained in the Macaque "your heart's in the right place" so Wukong I would say you're doing a pretty good job. You care about and love Mk. That's all that matters

18:18 I'm just gonna say it: a little hypocritical of Mei to get mad at Wukong for not having a "real plan" when her whole thing has been rushing into battle without much forethought. Tang says things like "perhaps we aren't ready, we might be clumsy and kind of figuring things out as we go but it's worked out for us so far" in Season 4 and everyone in that group agrees, but Wukong has the exact same philosophy about his own plans and suddenly Mei's against it. She's being inconsistent, and I get she was going through a hard time in the moment, but it still bothers me a bit since I don't think the show has acknowledged that fact.

Well Mei despite her happy go lucky thing, she already has a plan to get out of situations. I mean when we first meet her and Mk tells her about Red Sun what’s her next move after realizing it’s not tag? To blow the fire haired demon sky high. Despite not having feelings she genuinely cares for the people in her friend circle and family and will always try to protect them when she can.
