LEGO NES 71374 Unboxing, Speed Build & Review + LEGO Mario!

Join me for a fun LEGO NES review as I unbox, speed build and review the 71374 LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System from the 2020 LEGO Super Mario range. Based on the 1985 Nintendo Entertainment System, the LEGO NES set recreates a classic game console and includes a retro LEGO TV set which interacts with LEGO Mario in a recreation of the classic Super Mario Bros game. As well as LEGO NES unboxing, I also complete a 3 minute LEGO NES speed build and review the LEGO NES set.

LEGO 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System or NES is a 2,646 piece retro LEGO set themed on the 1985 classic Super Mario Bros and includes a retro LEGO CRT TV that houses a side-scrolling 8-bit Super Mario Bros game recreated from LEGO. In a modern twist, this set works with the LEGO Mario included in the 71360 LEGO Adventures with Mario Starter Course which I'll be reviewing in a later video. After the LEGO NES Unboxing and speed build, I complete a detailed LEGO NES review and demonstrate it interacting with the electronic LEGO Mario. Wa-hoo!
The LEGO NES is a perfect reproduction of the original Nintendo Entertainment System console and comes complete with a retro 1980s TV and brick-built Super Mario Bros LEGO game cartridge. The LEGO NES even has a neat cartridge loading mechanism and Easter eggs including a micro-scale LEGO warp zone hidden within the LEGO NES. A LEGO NES game controller is included and has authentic details including tactile buttons and a flexible lead to connect the LEGO controller to the NES system.
The 1980s TV included with the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) houses a really neat side-scrolling Super Mario Bros game complete with LEGO goombas and other brick-built enemies for the LEGO Mario to defeat. The mechanism for this LEGO game is absolutely superb and definitely makes this a desirable retro set for AFOLs or Adult Fans of LEGO.

They should have made it so you can press the power button and when you do a red LED shows up behind the power indicator. Seems like a missed opportunity. They should also make other games cartridges you can buy to add to the collection.

You built the cartrage wrong @jeremy herbert! The bottom tiles should be moved one stud out so you get the effect of a flat side on both sides of the bottom of the cartrage!

This is my favorite LEGO set. I got this for my 12th birthday. I wasn’t expecting this due to a budget crunch, but I got it because of my birthday not being much due to COVID. One of the best gifts I’ve ever received personally.
