This was the first Lego set I got as an adult. My wife bought it for me for Christmas in 2019 My addic- collection has grown so much since then but this death star will always have a special place in my heart. I also shoehorned in a little brick built 7/11 on one of the levels with a storm trooper having a drink.

great review of this set, I had the original death star set from 2008 so I was curious of what they changed.

I think my issue with this was what Jang said at the end. It just isn't a good display set for me. I'd love dioramas or playsets of the iconic scenes but if I'm displaying the Death Star, I want to see it as the Death Star. This is the Death Star cut open with little vignettes inside. So to me it feels like it's putting half the effort into both the play set and the display set. I also dislike new Chewbacca because of the eyes.

I love "classic Jang." I have this set -- bought from Lego before retirement and still in box. Idk when ill get around to building it (lack of display space means most of my large sets remain unbuilt).

I had the original one from saving up for like 2 years as a kid, I just boxed it up last month because of this very issue. While I love it dearly, it's too big to put on any reasonably sized shelf unfortunately

I feel like lack of space is the big issue for me with a lot of my sets. I've bought them because I didn't want to miss out before retirement but I don't currently have the space for them. I could build and display more but I don't like my displays looking too crowded and cluttered

i,m still searching for the the death star so badly just because I have the lego barad dur that's one step for me but ahh man. most of all i still needing the space station death star soo bad 😩
