Definitely a nice surprise to end a thankfully uneventful "Friday the 13th". It is indeed surreal that the TIE Interceptor has been rarely seen in set form overall, even though we waited two decades for a new version of the TIE Bomber from last year. By comparison, the original UCS TIE Interceptor (7181) from all the way back in July 2000 only had 703 pieces-which is just over a third of the parts comprising this new version 24 years later. But while most of this set's parts are black and gray, there are also several rare elements in other colors as well. Notably the 4x6 27-degree "wing plates" in sand green, which also appear in the UCS-style version of Gringotts Wizarding Bank (76417) from Harry Potter released last year. This is also one of the only sets outside of the "Friends" theme to have the 4x6 plate in "Medium Azur", with another Diorama-style Harry Potter set (76419) from last year also having it. Perhaps more interesting is how the color of Medium Azur in itself actually debuted in 2007 in a 9V train track pack (4206) five years before the "Friends" theme was first released.
