The thing about this update that I love is that this set was like, my holy grail as a kid. I was poor and it was expensive, but I asked for it every year anyway, and I never got it. Now that it's retired, it's even more expensive, like twice the price. But because they have an update that's yet to be retired, now as an adult I can finally have the set I always wanted as a kid.

There is a little function they didn't mention, that one of the levers on the tractor beam control "deactivates" the pylon by making the little blue energy column fall down inside it. Small thing, but at least you can actually have Obi Wan do the deactivation like in the movie.

Alright mom, you think that the Lego Death Star is too expensive of a set for my birthday which hypothetically- hypothetically lets take a look at the facts (which don't care about your feelings) in a situation where, hypothetically, you get it for my birthday. So, we take a look at the numbers it's $499.99 but it has 4,016 pieces, and that means it comes down to a price point of about 12.4 cents per piece and that's a fact, that's a fact (that doesn't care about your feelings). And even though that might be seemingly pricey in comparison to other lego sets, lets take a look at the minifigures. We have Han Solo in a Stormtrooper outfit, we have Luke Skywalker also in a Stormtrooper outfit, these are exclusives for the set since 2001. And it's a fact that you can recreate epic scenes- hypothetically, hypothetically, from A New Hope and Return of The Jedi if I had this set and I think the facts add up, that you should buy me this set (regardless of your feelings).

I don't think LEGO took the time to fix some of the key issues of the original Death Star set, such as the inaccessibility and emptiness of the very bottom section. It is a nice thing to see so many new and exclusive minifigures after the simple 2008 ones but unless I'd missed out on buying the original, I won't buy this set. I'm gonna have the Ghostbusters HQ instead, it looks a lot more worth the money, in my opinion. Awesome review, BrickVault, have a nice day/night! Bye!

Looks almost the same the older one. My favorite new thing with the newone is bether minifigs but I wish Lego could have make more changes and dont have 100 dollar or so much more for just 200 more pieces than the old one.

RacoonGaming by the time you’re 18, this set will surely be much more expensive. The original one came out in 2009 and was about 400 U.S. dollars, and it’s now over 3,000 U.S. dollars. Good luck, though.
