Gosh I love the quality of this video! The beach shots are amazing! Sorry for not talking about the actual set because I don’t have much interest, but it’s huge and looks very difficult to build, Technic just isn’t my thing! But I live the quality of this video though! 🤣

I was sold on NOT getting this set... but I’m just getting back into lego and was not aware of “Alt builds” until a few days back. Once I discovered all the additional builds you can do with this set I ordered one immediately!

I think Powered Up (Control+, Spike, Boost, etc) will slowly become more and more apreciated among older lego fans as more community made control apps / firmwares are released. For example, with Pybricks you can program every powered up hub in micropython like the Spike hub does out-of-the-box. In a set like this you could program the two hubs to talk each other, add a buch of sensors to the empty ports and completely automate it. The Powered Up (Boost) color/distance sensor can also be used to send IR commands to Power Functions receivers (sadly, I don't think it has an IR receiver, only an IR led. So it doesn't work the other way around).

It has have FIVE gearboxes actually, 2 for twaurk, 1 for the turning thing and 2 for the actuators! So yes it does have gearboxes just not a drive transmission gearbox. I just got the set and it’s also pretty challenging to build.

Hello, a bit late but do you have a video on showing how to replace the clutch gear with the 3 piece axle mod?
@Unbrickme3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, no. If you have the same length axle extender piece it’s easy to replace while building the set. It shouldn’t take too much time to modify after assembling the set too

I really wish that this set had double tracks, so then it doesn't look too thin on both ends, and I think Lego should have just brought Bluetooth to powered up and not have brought control plus, as revolutionary as it is.

Did you mean, being Bluetooth to power functions? Powered up and control+ is the same

Considering that the Bucket Wheel sucks at properly working... barely moves, stutters... That 9800R set aims to be innovative with the C+.
@Unbrickme5 жыл бұрын
Bruno Beltrame Ok forget about the bucket wheel excavator. Remember the 8043 set?
@isaiahmelena32804 жыл бұрын
Ik you say that it's pretty basic to have one motor controlling a function but I think it's because when you move the arm, the set keeps the bucket leveled until a certain point. The actuators have to make a small adjustment when you lower or raise and to do something like that with gears would probably be impossible. I still respect your opinion on the set though
@outofthi5world567 Жыл бұрын
They don't, because of where the actuators are mounted when the arm moves it naturally stays parallel.
