Suspension geometry is right on. The rubber bands work great. You need dampening. As an rc racer for many years, you may be able to double the amount of time your wheels touch the ground over most terrains by adding oil shocks. I can see in the off road slow motion sequences that your tires touch the ground about 50% of the time. Oil shocks would double your corner holding speed as well as corner exit speed off road... Which is the fastest way around the off road circuit. I enjoyed this vid immensely, great build👍
@ragsixracing3 жыл бұрын
@@adriablancafort I see your issue. Maybe adapt some rc shocks like you did the tires? You can find them cheap on eBay. Most come with 30 wt oil. You may have to use lighter weight(10wt) oil in them for the lighter Lego chassis. Good luck 👍

Nice car, but besides just springs (as you have now, even tho they rubber bands) you will also need some shock ABSORPTION. I think those tiny yellow pneumatic cylinders will be perfect, just don't connect any hose and there will be enough resistance to act as a shock absorber. While keeping the amazingly sleek suspension setup as it is.
@ДимаКиров-з8э3 жыл бұрын

Great video and fantastic technique used in this moc! I love it! Funny, that you are also using rubber bands for your suspension as i did that since the 1980s in my technic mocs as well as some modified parts to achieve what i wanted to do. But since mine were fully modelled, quite heavy mocs, i had to use more rubber bands and additionally custom spring shocks, which gives the suspension more strength and reduces the time the wheels "fly" without touching the ground. And your steering geometry is close to perfect, since the mechanic is nearly inside the wheel (don't know how to describe that better). I would at least add one more rubber band to your moc to stabilize the suspension a little and add a little more weight to the front, perhaps with a bumper construction.

This is a great build! The only thing I would change is to make the suspension stiffer. In ground conditions like 5:15 you lose a lot of traction (and therefore speed and stability) because the suspersion is too bouncy. This is worse at the very back where the motor sits
