This was very well done and I must say also very respectfully portrayed. Two of my Great Uncles were with the Australian 27th Battalion reinforcements that arrived at Gallipoli in September and October (they both survived, but one was later killed at Pozieres, Second Battle of the Somme, and the other at Passchendaele, Third Battle of Ypres). I also have a distant cousin who was part of the dawn landing at Gallipoli.

just a correction for the part at 0:35 the allied soldiers didn't mean to land at the coast of Gallipoli im still researching as to where they wanted to go originally but it wasn't Gallipoli they were sailing the wrong direction as one of the officers had made a error with map readings and they landed on Gallipoli they were caught by surprise when they started to get fired upon by the Turkish coastline defence snipers and the war started from there

@KingBillyPictures9 жыл бұрын
Hi +Shawn Stone ! Thanks heaps, that's really encouraging! I used Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 12 for the editing and Gimp 2. You can use pretty well any video editing program though, depending on the type of work you want to put into it. There are heaps of brilliant KZbin stop-motion Lego animation tutorials out there also which I recommend you check out if you're still keen.
@carvedouttastone9 жыл бұрын
+Green Brick Productions thanks for that - can you recommend any good programs for kids aged about 11 that are easy to use and freeware at all?
@KingBillyPictures9 жыл бұрын
Shawn Stone Before I bought the program I use now, I worked with Windows Movie Maker for Widows XP, which I began using when I was about 11, though I think this has been replaced with Windows Live Movie Maker, for later Windows versions. I reckon this would be good (pretty sure it's free)! Here's a link to a website rating the best free movie-making software in case you'd like to check it out: www.techradar.com/au/news/software/applications/best-free-video-editing-software-9-top-programs-you-should-download-1136264 If you do go for Windows Live MM, I recommend watching this tutorial which shows you the basics for a Lego stop-motion with it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYi0ZIKpr5tpm68 I hope this helps and I hope your class are able to have a go! I think it's an epic as idea! Give me a yelp if you'd like to know anything else and I'd be happy to send you my email if so too!

+Green Brick Productions Thanks for the reply -very helpful info. And for the stop motion capture - I played around with a software program called iKitmovie, but my class uses Macbook Airs - any recommendations to capture each frame etc? Sorry for all the questions, but I really appreciate all your help pointing me in the right direction.
@KingBillyPictures9 жыл бұрын
+Shawn Stone, I don't know much about Macs, nor video editing software in general, though I've spent a couple hours researching online to investigate! I've found a good site listing a few 'free' programs for Mac: filmora.wondershare.com/video-editor/free-video-editing-software-mac.html?gclid=CLbm4s-omMgCFRCVvQoduasIyg ?---> The first, 'Filmora' (originally 'Wondershare Video Editor') seems like the best I could find, looking user-friendly (there's a good video for it at the bottom of the page). However, only the demo version is free and so leaves a watermark on all finished projects which may or may not essentially ruin the videos, but this would be worth looking into. The next is 'iMovie' which I believe you've got to pay for if it hasn't come with your Macs to begin with. No. 3 is 'Avidemux', seeming like a simplistic program but I think may not be user-friendly for stop-motion judging by the strange, horizontal scroll bar down the bottom instead of the classic video-media timeline where you see your imported images/video/sound/music all lined up to be edited. Without seeing the individual images while editing, I don't know how easy it would be for stop-motion animation, however I have seen it done on 'KZbin'. You could have a brief look at these if you're interested to get an idea, but I'm hesitant about it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIennmqhiddnqa8 kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2Womoair6-lY6s There is 'Zwei Stein' ('ZS4 Video Editor') which I believe is a very powerful program, although, challenging, technical and non-user-friendly to operate effectively. Maybe have a squiz at this if you're interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/homxq5JtlppsgKs There is also 'Hyper-Engine AV' but I was unable to find any good tutorials to get my head around this, and also 'Blender', which I doubt is be user-friendly. There's also this site which has more options: www.makeuseof.com/tag/top-6-free-video-editors-mac-os/ ?---> I haven't looked them all, so I'm unable to tell you much about them, however going off the picture, 'Kdenlive' seems to have potential. Perhaps this tutorial may be a good place to look: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZuUgIKKfcmCbM0 I hope this helps; sorry I haven't made this simple so I hope this doesn't put you off. If you do get a program, while stop-motion animation is time consuming and requires a good deal of patience (also remember to make frequent back-ups while editing or the program might crash with so many pictures) I think it is extremely rewarding! :) All the best! Feel free to ask more help!

R u guys stupid Ottoman Empire has won that war
@KingBillyPictures9 жыл бұрын
+Oyunkrallığı Antalya Yes, you're right, the Ottomans did win at Gallipoli. But Australia and New Zealand don't really commemorate and remember Gallipoli for it's military achievements (i.e. those who won, lost, killed the most enemies etc.) but rather the lives, sacrifice and character of each ANZAC soldier - many of whom were not so different to people like us today, 100 years on. Hope this makes any sense :)
@dirilisertugrul85109 жыл бұрын
+Green Brick Productions now the Ottomans are friends with your nation us Turks forgive because we are kind people even if we killed your soldiers that was only to defend ourselves but we are still friends we wont attack you back we will allow you to live free but if you and the other nations gang up on us then for sure we will defend and attack back but were friends. :)
@KingBillyPictures9 жыл бұрын
+Osmanli Sari there were many reasons why our nations clashed in World War. Whether justifiable or not, it's now a thing of the past; what remains today is the legacy of it all. What excites me is the heritage and inspiration we can gain from the soldiers who fought there, in both victory and in defeat. For my country, Gallipoli was a chance to prove ourselves to the world as courageous and resilient spirits, only 14 years old at the time. For your nation it was a time to preserve and protect a homeland, a people and Empire, hundreds of years old (and done with success!).

But sadly he join up with the American forces a couple of years after that and he ended up going out to D-Day and he was in one of the first waves of marines to land on Normandy in 1944 sadly he only lasted not even 5 minutes because we was torn apart by the germans their stupidly overpower MG42's. XxStabby PiexX Prefer working with just official 'Lego'. Gallipoli Turkish and ANZAC soldier uniforms in this video are fine anyway as both the Turkish and Australian slouch hats come from the 'Adventurers' series (for the New Zealander 'lemon-squeezer' hats I just angled them so you don't see the fold) (Will say, though, the Turkish hats would be better in tan colour).As for weapons, I'm pretty happy with standard Lego rifles rather than complex, detailed 'brick arms' ones. (haha though I'm not sure about the blue-tack bayonets :D )I may later get brick arms, though, for the tin British-style helmets the ANZACs were issued with as they moved on to the Western Front (France/Belgium). What do you think? I'd appreciate your thoughts!

Very well made film that brings honor to the ANZACs. May both ANZAC and Turks who perished at Gallipoli rest in eternal peace. Good job sir.

@KingBillyPictures8 жыл бұрын
Hi m8, that's right in my Lego adaption... in real life both Turkish and Anzac hats were khaki and my Lego Turks are more like British soldiers.

@KingBillyPictures6 ай бұрын
I can’t remember the model, but it was an old Canon digital camera with a macro setting but no manual settings like the DSLRs which are much better for animation!
