Sunday 9th February 2024 and I have traders tickets for the Tunbridge-Wells Brick Festival.
Tickets for the 11am and 12noon time slots have already sold out so I am expecting it to be very busy.
Unfortunately I did run out of time when setting up the the event so I was not able to take a look around at some of the display and some of the other traders, so this video really does just follow how my day went as a trader from getting there first thing in the morning to packing up up at the end of the show.

Good to see you again even though we didnt have much time to chat during the show (which is a sign of a busy show). Thanks also for helping me with a cardboard box.. to all the people who haven't met Iain yet, he's as nice in real life as he is in his videos :)

The queues yesterday were crazy - got into the queue at 10.10 with an early bird and didn't get in until 11! Definitely oversold for the 10 and 11 slots - which didn't make for a fun start to the day and not good value for the expensive early bird ticket! That said we enjoyed looking at the MOCs (there were a couple of brilliant Star Wars builds and pop out Jurassic World frame) and some of the traders. Great work with your pricing and selection Ian (you were too busy for us to say hi) - much cheaper than some of the other traders.

I was wondering, is there much inter-vendor trading? Or is it mainly from the public? Just wondering if vendors are scooping up stuff for the future.
@iainsbricks
@iainsbricks 10 сағат бұрын
Vendors do talk to each other and will occasionally buy sets from other vendors, but it's not like a car boot sale where you get a load of people hovering over your stall as you are trying to unpack.

@@euromotifyep, business costs, ebay fees, income tax, storage space, your cash in product for 1-3 years. Can definitely make money with Lego but not quite as straightforward as some people think.

I grew up in Tonbridge nearby. Tunbridge Wells is a moneyed town so the success makes sense. (Sorry not a fan of your latest outtro music, it doesnt fit the authentic feel of your channel, just my opinion).

Definitely a very affluent area. Still surprised how busy it was though. The outro music is just a bit of an experiment. I can always change it if too many people don't like it.

Well done clever 👏👏 you’ve just gone back on your word.. I asked you middle of last year just before you were going to a brick festival . I asked you if you had any old modular buildings left for sale and you said no sold out of all of them. To find out you have sold two buildings that you have had for the last 15 😡😡
@caronmills8983

With the amount of stock he's got I'm sure he's allowed to make an error and it was accidental.
@iainsbricks
@iainsbricks 7 сағат бұрын
Maybe I just misunderstood that you were specifically asking what modulars I was taking to a specific show. I have taken Green Grocer sets to other shows in the past but they never sold. Even when I did finally sell one about a year ago it went for way less than it was worth, so i decided not to sell them at shows. I have mentioned in the past on there videos that I had a couple of Green Grocer sets left, which is how the guy that bought them from me knew about them. If you are still interested in getting a green Grocer, get in touch with me, either on here or on instant let me know which Brick Festival show you will be attending
