The set definitely could've benefited from being a bit bigger too and in turn an actual garage could've been included and acted as a way to store the pickup truck. Instead it's fake and leads to the big open room on the lower floor which feels rather jarring and odd for a set intended for adults. The original was definitely way too big imo but now this one feels way too small, wish they could've gotten a sweet spot between the two because despite my disinterest in the IP, it's actually a really cool looking house.

My largest issue was that the cullens just look like regular people? Like vampires and they aren’t even slightly more pale? One of the few complaints I have after seeing the final images is the missing characters like the rest of the Cullen family and Victoria & James. I do agree too that the final version does look a tad basic vs. the Ideas submission. I still want to get it because I have plans for a pop culture shelf and this would be considered pop culture in my opinion. Even if it would've driven up the price another $20-$40, having the entire family and the two main antagonists in the first film would've brought the set to life a bit more and given it more playability & scene creation.
@bloodymarvelous479012 күн бұрын

I think my two biggest issues with this set are A) lack of foliage and B) size. I won't say the original submission was an ideal size as I do think it was a really big shelf queen, but this one feels way too small in comparison and it really shows. I think that's in part due to the garage space now being taken up by the lounge room or piano.. room(?) which creates a visually jarring effect of fake garage door leading to the open space with the piano. It feels like the designing team's main focus was spent making this set more alike a playset, which while it isn't a bad thing on paper I think as a result it's been "dumbed down" a tad too much which is only made worse by the fact this is intended to be an adult oriented set. It's still cool, but I think it could've been better between that sweet spot of small lego city house and big shelf queen, at the very least a bigger tree and functional garage should've been standard.

I said the same! For $60 - $70 maybe OK. It's a bland house with very little to go for it. Bland truck and I honestly never care about Minifigures. But for $220, Holy hell no

You think $60-$70 is a reasonable price for 2,200 pieces?

@@bloodymarvelous4790 Funwhole and Pantasy sell sets with 2-3 thousand pieces for not much more than that, and their quality is as good as Lego, so yes, that's reasonable, particularly for a rather poor-looking set.

@@bloodymarvelous4790 I agree that this set wouldn’t be any cheaper in today’s market but I think they meant to say that there would have been a bigger market if the set wasn’t over £150.

Let’s be really here no set on earth would cost 60-70 for 2k piece set. Even if you go by the .10 cent a piece that’s still 200 for all 2k with out stickers
@SO-ym3zs10 күн бұрын
@CultivatedBunny 10 cents per piece is common for Lego, but the best competing brands sell sets that are every bit as good as Lego or better for 1/3: to 1/2 that price. Lego dramatically overcharges, and $60-70 with all prints is absolutely realistic and available if you're willing to hold Lego to a proper standard and not take their pricing at face value.

This thing sucks. Flop city.

Imo the lego version is actually better theres more color variation and more shape variation due to the 2nd story being a different length

The set is boring compared to the original and I see again a lot of stickers.... So with that... There is nothing that says "twighlight" in this set.. I can rebuilt this with my existing bricks... Change some colours.. Doesn't even matter... As they don't care for true colours in this icon set anyway
