My personal ranking 31. Washington Capitals (A step down, really should've had the shoulder patch as the main logo) 30. New York Ranger (No subtlety) 29. Florida Panthers (Just doesn't strike me as intimidating compared to the older logo) 28. The Vancouver Canucks (Not really a good logo, especially the addition of "Vancouver" on the top, just makes it worse) 27. The Toronto Maple Leafs (Although adding a logo in front of the name, I feel like it doesn't change the fact that it's just a name. It'd be cooler if they just put the old Toronto Arenas "T" in the middle of the Leaf and kept it better otherwise. Even as a Leafs fan I'm tired of seeing that logo) 26. Montreal Canadiens (An iconic logo, although it has more subtlety to it than the Toronto logo, it's still a weak logo to me.) 25. Tampa Bay Lightning (It looks more like a shoulder patch honestly, I miss the old Lightning Logo, all they had to do was fix the font or get rid of it and it would've been fine. Plus when I think Blue and white, I still think of the Toronto Maple Leafs.) 24. The Philadelphia Flyers (I remember as a kid being confused by this logo, even today the ends look too curved to be a wing) 23. The Ottawa Senators (Not really a Senator, it's actually a Centurion. Though it would have been in my top 5 if they were called the Ottawa Centurions) 22. LA Kings (The logo before this one was cool, but I feel like the shield was a cool idea but the "LA" addition kinda felt awkward) 21. Boston Bruins (Love the colour scheme, but isn't "Bruin" Old Norse for "Brown"? No brown on it though) 20. Edmonton Oilers (Represents everything about the province of Alberta, but text is still something that I think bothers me in logos) 19. The Pittsburgh Penguins (The Penguin is intimidating and Black and Yellow go together, but the Penguin always looked like he was crying to me) 18. Carolina Hurricanes (Don't know why but I always thought of Shane Helms when I saw that logo) 17. St. Louis Blues (A clever nod to their history) 16. Anahiem Ducks (Gotta admit, the web foot is pretty interesting and clever) 15. Vegas Golden Knights (Points for the subtlety but at the same time it looks like a logo out of a video game) 14. Arizona Coyotes (Actually pretty cool, a step up from the Coyote of Many Colours and I'm glad they have their own proper colour scheme) 13. Dallas Stars (I actually think the colours go together nicely) 12. Calgary Flames (Even though I don't like text in logos I gotta give exception to Calgary because they do have a hint of 11. Colorado Avalanche (The clever little things in this logo are actually really cool) 10. Minnesota Wild (Damn good logo, only problem I have it's that it seems a little too busy) 9. you pretty much hit the nail on the head. The Wild is definitely the best logo by a mile (kilometer). My inner fight is for #2 and #3. Buffalo's logo is by far the most aggressive logo, showing the aggressiveness of hockey. Making the new logo's bison 3D for 2020-2021 is genius. The holographic effect of the charging bison is WOW. also, #3 would be Dallas, boring logo, but green is my favorite color and this shade of green is what hockey needs more of.

Personally I like simpler logos much more, I just find them more pleasing to look at. I may be bias because I’m a Bruins fan but I love our logo. I like how simple it is, as well as the colors. Some more hidden meaning to the Penguins logo that people from outside of Pittsburgh may not know. Pittsburgh itself is shaped like a triangle, formed by three rivers converging, and Pittsburgh has long been known as the "golden triangle", so that is why you see a golden triangle appearing behind the skating penguin. It frames it really well, adds a ton of balance, and what's not to love about a skating penguin with a hockey stick?

@@iBMcFly The team name was chosen via contest/submissions and it's mostly because the arena was shaped like (and referred to as) the Igloo, so it kind of fit the theme. Also, I don't think this has much to do with it, but the National Aviary is in Pittsburgh.
