Lego Technic TRAINS

Жыл бұрын

After some experiments the "Infinite Train Track" works pretty smoothly. This is actually part 1 of 2 because I will also build a Revolving Background. The prototype is working but I still need to order the posters for the background. Stay tuned for more extreme train videos!
==================================================
Welcome To: Lego TECHNIC TRAINS.
There will be a lot more fun videos coming because I just started. If you want to help spread the idea of Technic Trains, like or subscribe! Thank you!
For almost all of my Technic Trains you can find building instructions at the links below.
Train track is made of Technic Beams and is 9 studs wide and 2 studs high. Trains are 11 studs wide and some parts 13 studs.
Wheel Modification is required, see my other video.

Have you thought of angling the platform? This is useful for testing locomotive performance on an incline or testing brake system on decline. How many wagons can your locomotives handle on a 10% grade for example?

What is the maximum incline angle for a single locomotive before the wheels start to slip? Another example.

A couple days before I made this video I thought about extending legs so there will be an incline. Maybe in the future I will try it.

I think you should add a distance sensor to the moving rail so that if the train is too fast or too slow, it will adjust the track speed accordingly.

O wauw what a great concept. Imagine this set up, with the possibility to (in)cline the tracks and all that with a moving background illustrating a beautiful landscape passing by the train. Add some music and a camera and you have a movie 🎥 🍿 Thanks for the great video. Greetings from the Netherlands 😊

I think you should add small contact points under the car, and little pins on the pieces of rail and also make it go upwards steeper than the train would've been able to go otherwise, and use the conveyor belt rail to assist the train up steep hills, like a roller coaster lift hill

Great! One more hint (if you did not implemented it already): You can use ultrasound distance sensor from Mindstorms or so and program the controller to control the speed of the locomotive. When she comes to close to the end she will be slowed down and vice versa... 🙂 So she stands always approx in the middle of the test stand... 🙂

Really cool idea. Reminds my of my VRML project in university where I did an infinite train diorama. I wonder if you perhaps could manage to add some moving railroad details to those moving tracks and made a mechanism that is controlling varying speed of the train.
@legotechnictrains8999
@legotechnictrains8999 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. I was thinking of another long tread track and turn it sideways so I can attach beams vertically. Then I could build moving overhead power lines and poles. That should go between the track and the revolving background that I will also add. I just don't know how to add the vertical tread without needing a lot of parts.
@SaperPl1
@SaperPl1 Жыл бұрын
@@legotechnictrains8999 How about making the overhead power lines actually static, the string to be static , but the poles would constantly pick them up as they go? I wonder if this would look good, because depending on the speed this might move the string too fast Also that would need to be faked somehow while being opened up from the side...

Have you ever heard of the plane on a treadmill problem, it'd be interesting to implement something like it here with a propeller powered vehicle. Might not work well unless you can get the friction low enough though.

I usually buy parts on Bricklink, but in this case most parts were from a M1 Bridgelayer I bought on Aliexp. The tank tracks I also bought on Aliexp because they worked better than Lego. That was an exception because real Lego usually always works better.

I am a fan of Brick Technology but I have not seen all his videos. There are several treadmills on youtube but I actually can't remember how I came up with this infinite track idea.
