Lego Technic TRAINS

Lego Technic TRAINS

Күн бұрын

A lot of Lego and Electric Motors and Controllers!
I'm sure you'll like it!
Train track is made of Technic Beams and is 9 studs wide and 2 studs high. Trains are 11 studs wide and some parts 13 studs.
Wheel Modification is required, see my other video.
I started this video a couple weeks ago before the big train accident in The Netherlands. It's a bit unfortunate timing.

This was incredible! Would be quite remarkable to somehow see two of these cranes hooked together and recover in tandem onto a flat car or something like that (can't even imagine how long building just one took but an idea nonetheless)

Thanks! I have seen some videos of recovery work in real life and they usually don't lift a complete locomotive but first one side and then the other side back on the rails. I probably will not take my crane apart so if I build another one I will make a video with some crane team work.

This cable-based crane is incredibly cool for such a project, although I do wonder if the bigger air pistons would allow for "hydraulics" that are actually pneumatic for the modern one. I suspect they don't have the strength at the pressure you have from the lego compressor though unless the were doubled up or something. Either way, an impressive build, and I appreciate that you go through all of the step to unpack and pack up the equipment to maximize realism.
@legotechnictrains8999

I think I will build a crane like the EDK 750. So that should have 2 linear actuators to lift the boom. Not sure if you know but there are Lego linear actuators that look like pistons but actually work like a nut and bolt so no pneumatics but you need to connect an axle to spin the bolt to go up/down. They can handle more weight and don't have issues with air leaks. But in theory I could also use pneumatic because a Lego compressor is pretty powerful. I use compressors form my "steam train" so I already have one. We'll see what works best.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A cartoon of a group of cavemen. One points at a diagram of a dinosaur's tail with four spikes. The caption reads, "Now, this end is called the thagomizer...after the late Thag Simmons." This Far Side cartoon is the source of the term thagomizer. Best evidence for the use of the thagomizer is this Allosaurus tail (caudal) vertebra showing a punctured process. The hole perfectly matches a thagomizer spike.[1] A thagomizer (/ˈθæɡəmaɪzər/) is the distinctive arrangement of four spikes on the tails of stegosaurian dinosaurs. These spikes are believed to have been a defensive measure against predators.[2][1] The arrangement of spikes originally had no distinct name. Cartoonist Gary Larson invented the name "thagomizer" in 1982 as a joke in his comic strip The Far Side, and it was gradually adopted as an informal term sometimes used within scientific circles, research, and education.

I really like where this is heading. Great elevator and crane (all other trains are ofc great as well). The only thing I would criticize would be that boring part with the dinosaur. Tips fo future missions? Maybe something like repairing tracks. Or you might try building cargo-car that would unload cargo (coal, rocks) to the side. And combine it with excavator.
