Thanks Rui! Yes the Zyx is sounding better than ever ;o) It must like the Clearaudio headshell and the glass mat I've put on the Solid12 since my last batch of videos with it has also improved the sound IMO. The record is a gem, too! It was hard selecting which tracks to record . . ..

Glass mat? What brand is it? I never thought about glass as a good material for damping resonances. I always compared it with aluminium in the sense that both tend to ring a bit when they are hit. But on the other hand, Rega always used glass for their platters for so many years, and they work satisfactorily i think. Although due to my paranoia, 😱 i'm always trying to isolate the platter with different mats. LOL

The mat came from Analogue Seduction, the UK retailer. It's very similar, if not identical to the Tonar (Nagaoka) mat. With a thin "slip mat" in between the platter and glass ringing is non existent. The sound is livelier (certainly louder), deeper and wider with the glass mat in place. I liked the sound better than the stock (Lenco) rubber mat, the Kenwood rubber mat, or Sound-Dead Steel mat that I tried. The only downside is that there's not a lot of spindle showing above the record - just enough to place the TT weight on but not enough for a Michell clamp, for instance. I had to raise the tonearm a fair bit keep the VTA correct.

Can you tell me what SUT you use for ZYX R100 and what is the load impedance ?, tks you very much

I don't use an SUT. For this video I was using a Graham Slee Elevator EXP step up amplifier.
