I read that Flick Colby was insistent that her various troupe (beginning with Pan's People initially) were promoting dance choreography rather than simply performing as dancers to background music on a pop show. She was surely an asset to the (British) performing arts industry even though she was an American who'd gained her initial experience in and around the Boston performing art circles. Cheers.

I'd gathered that she'd (more or less) been the driving force and inspiration behind the troupe involved with TOTP and BBC dance routines and presentations, and for taking this one step (if you'll excuse the "step" pun) in relation to the choreography, or "dance as the art form" fulfilling the role of "dance director". @@mickeymcnaughton2555 What I meant was that she made Pan's and later Legs & Co so big that many young girls were inspired to take up dancing themselves. I don't think she actually taught, though it might interest you to know that Dee-Dee of Pan's, now in her later 70s, still does teach young girls ballet.

Yes. Great guess. It was themed on (Gilbert and Sullivan), The Mikado. The producer went with the "Willow Tit" look on this one. At that time, the BBC couldn't afford full length kimono costumes for the dancers, and so they went with the cut down skimpy bed skirt look instead.
