Love my M10. It can be an incredibly fast camera if you have it ready. Zone focus and the ability to get usable shots at iso6400 make for a unique night shooting experience

Yeah, if you borrow it for a week it will slow you down, if you use it for a longer time it will speed you up. Even at f2 it offers a speed and portability that invites to shots that would’ve never been done with an SL or Sony etc…

buy an m11 honestly the more you use it the faster it becomes and it all makes sense. Focusing becomes second nature. Best way is to set it to infinity and then only have to turn the focus one way always.

Loving my M10 with a 35mm Summicron. It's a small, compact lens that renders beautiful images. Paired with the M10 and its super-quiet shutter, the system makes for a discreet street shooter. (BTW, used to own the Q2. The lens felt too long and unwieldy for the body. Barely used it even though the IQ was fantastic.)

How would you describe the image quality in comparison to a Fuji GFX you’re also familiar with? I know these are two different kinds of cameras… would still love to get your perspective. I am using an xpro3 at the moment and am thinking about adding a second „slow“ camera for personal work (GFX/ Hasselblad/ Leica) 😊

It's funny. I consider a big upside of Leica the fact that it is fast and ready for quick shooting and small enough to carry all the time. I guess it totally depends on what/how you shoot. My hit rate went up to damn near 100% once I ditched autofocus and just trained properly with zone focus... but I'm doing street around NYC and typically fairly stopped down. Shooting with autofocus would require managing it's assumptions, which is a full time job on active city streets.

Have you ever tried using the Ricoh GR system? It will be interesting to compare it as it is a very nice compact camera for on the fly shooting

I really enjoy my pair of M240s, but never have seen any other Leica's in the wild while out shooting. One day I'll try an M10, but for now I'm happy with my gear... Quick shooting? Nothing faster than range focusing...

I prefer the M 4/2 as it will accept ANY M-mount lens ever designed, something NO OTHER M series Leica can say. I do wish it had a 1/125 or 1/160th x-sync shutter, but it's still a wonderful camera. I have no issue using a handheld light meter, or the lightmeter in my brain which I've used for 62 years beginning with a Kodak 620 Medalist (my Daddy's) using Ansco IsoPan (ASA 125) roll-film. I even took indoor photos without a light meter with a 5cent Kodak Photoguide that were as well exposed as most TLR SLRs of 1960 were, as Nikon F Photomic's and Pentax Spotomatics had really TERRIBLE built-in meters. In 1965 I switched to 4X5 Crown Graphic for professional work and a Brockway incident light meter (Sekonic 395) with a Strobo-Flash IV.

I really don’t understand,why is it possible,someone who doesn’t like the shooting experience with M6,to like the shooting experience with M10.M6 is even better,because it is lighter and smaller.The only advantage of M10 is the aperture priority program.If this was the reason,you have to try M7.

Lovely shots! I love Leica and the cameras, and want one so badly. But my biggest concerns about the Leica M system: - shooting with just one hand is difficult (often I have something in my other hand, bag coffee beer e.g.) - it is more difficult to get a creative framing and most spontaneous shots are always from eye level. - Leica should also integrate film simulations for jpegs. That is the reason why I use the GFX system more. Also with manual Leica voigtländer lenses.

I own the M10 for almost four years and I can say: - The M system is no "snap camera" when you're not willing to stop down (zone / range focusing) - Shooting with one hand is nothing I would do with a M camera - The composition thing is really something that gets on my nerves, unfortunately I'm more creative with other cameras because I see the frame and can more focus on the actual image and not the focusing - Never shoot Leica JPGs, they are not great and if you slam so much money on the table, you should definitely use all it capabilities (RAW)

I wouldn't buy it even though I can afford it. I think it's a waste of money. I am perfectly happy with my Nikon and Fuji. After all, it's what behind the camera that matters the most rather than the red dot, which sure gives you plenty of bragging right. Leica understands human nature and vanity very well. Of course, the camera has to take nice photos in order to justify the cost. But is it $8000 better than a Nikon? You would be the judge. I am sure Leica appreciates your video.
