Leica Q in 2025 is it worth it? Nikon ZF Vs Leica Q.

I moved on to the M system but the Q is the only camera I've ever truly missed. It's a goldilocks "forever body," absolutely. One day, I'll bump into a Q-P at the right time and have the body I'll take to my grave ha.

Original Q owner here. I recently played with a ZF in store because it looks incredible. I couldn't believe how cheap and plasticky it felt in my hand. In fact, every camera I picked up felt cheap and made of plastic. Which reminds me of why I got the Q to begin with.

I love mine! Don't notice the age at all. There's just something about the photos it takes. I also have the delamination problem, just from walking around Tokyo in the Summer...

@@baconliquid438 it’ s great. They really over engineered back then. The delamination is a bummer, maybe it doesen’t cost a fortune for Leica to fix it😁or maybe not. They also removed all the dust from inside the lens and more. Could be worth it, mine is perfect now.

Had to send my Q off for a new viewfinder after it delaminated a few months ago after a short walk in a very humid and moist forest. Two week turn around and cost £200. Not great, but cheaper than i thought it would be. Have now upgraded to Q3.

Curious, doesn't the Zf show framelines aswell? Is this really a feature no other camera has? I know that Nikons at least allow cropping into DX (APS-C) mode. Does this just change the whole viewfinder picture or do framelines change?

@@lelandfitz1762 No framelines in the Nikon. Only rangefinders has frame lines. Maybe the Pixii and some fujis has it.

@@RH-adventure ok thanks. I only own a DSLR and don't have expierence with mirrorless electronic viewfinder. I think it's a miss, because it certainly could be done in mirrorless systems.

This is an unfair comparison or can be seen as a Leica ad. First because you decided to use the Leica Q as a model and then you missed most Zf features, even the Lens is not a Nikkor lens. So for me this comparison doesn't worth a penny and looks more a self confirming ad for Q owners. The Q is a great camera with a wonderful lens, but your video is just biaised, I have owned a few Leica M's and Fuji and now a Nikon Zf...

You have absolutely ZERO clues what you are talking about when you said you cant do wildlife photography or landscape Photography with a Q Series! If you do NOT know what you are talking about, PLEASE DON'T!

@@MARKLINMAN1 The lack of weather sealing in Q1 makes it hard to use on rainy mountain hikes. Q2 and Q3 is great for hiking and landscapes. Q1 doesent have that much reach with a 24 mp sensor compared to 60mp for the Q3.
