Leica SL2/S Firmware Fixed!

Just updated my SL2s via the photos app. 📸 Absolutely love this camera, still have my Q2 but this is now my “go to” camera unless I absolutely have to have something light and portable.

It was about time….😅 Happy my 601 and the SL2-S now work identically again. It was a nuisance if you swap between different cameras with different button layouts.

Thanks for the update. Never updated my SL2-S for this reason. Luckily the SL2 I picked up used from KEH a few months ago didn't have the latest firmware either

Hi Lukas 👋, thank you for the video. Don’t you have issues with that new firmware ? While shooting MF using the back button if i move my composition after setting my focus point the focus automatically refocuses on whatever I am pointing at (without me touching the back button) 🤷‍♂️ like AF continuous except i don’t even press on anything!

Pretty sure you have to save the user profiles before updating the firmware or you'll wipe them - right?

I can’t remember because it’s been so long but should we be able to push the joystick again to cancel the zoom? Thats how it is with custom buttons but not with the joystick currently on the new update. Only way to cancel the zoom is to half press the shutter.

Hi Lukas: do you have both an SL2 and an SL2-S? Is the low-light capability of the SL2-S for video and photos really that much better than the SL2? ALSO: do you know a hack to re-instate my old file numbers? After the FirmWare 6.1.0 update, my SL2 re-set back to L101.... drag.

wait, is this something the 601 has been able to do? I despise having to click the lower left button for manual focus check, its super awkward. I feel like I missed this update.

I assume this is for the SL2-S (as well as the SL2) and that the firmeare on the Leica website is isted under SL2-S specifically? I just saw your video moments ago and haven't looked at the website yet. Thanks so very much!

😅Again appreciate your prompt response. Although I have been shooting Leica for decades, including film and digital M's, I just obtained a SL2s and already found your video's informative, very straight forward and most importantly, have very practical applications.

There is an option to save your user profiles before you update or you can go into the user profiles window and save them to your sd card there by pressing “save user profiles”
