Jesse Marlow - Street Photography Gallery

This is a recording of a public webinar (19 August 2021) in which Jesse Marlow showcases the very high standard of work by guests who attended one of his workshops in Sydney earlier in the year. It was an interesting exercise in that Jesse and Nick are discussing photographs taken by 'students' rather than their own work, and there is a lot to learn from looking at such images.
Please note that the recording quality is distinctly substandard in many parts and the audio lag between Jesse and Nick caused some difficulties. There were some last minute problems with Internet access as we went live. We apologise for this and hope it does not spoil your enjoyment too much. There is a wealth of good information and advice from two experienced photographers here.

I’m not a Leica user…yet🙄😂, however I am definitely a huge Jesse Marlow fan and it was great to see all the fabulous pictures from everyone mentioned and to hear Jesse’s critique. Awesome video and I’d love to see more videos like this one 👏👏👏

I'm 66 years old and have a 9 year old son and i find it much easier to photograph children when my son and I are out together my son also carries his camera and enjoys street photography. Ive been a street photographer since i was ten years old and i learnt from my father. Now using the Q2. Regards

Just a comment about reversing the image of the lady with the red hat. I disagree in that, in a left to right world, she would almost be sliding out of the frame to the right and the red wall does not have enough visual weight to balance the image as a whole. As it is, with the lady exiting to the left there is a visual tension that keeps your eye (my eye at least) interested in the image. Very enjoyable presentation. Thanks very much.

Fair enough. There are no rights and wrongs, just personal impressions. However, it's always worth exploring the alternatives and seeing what works best. Sometimes this can lead to surprising results.
