Cheers. Just fyi, I got the alert for the small clip you did an hour ago, but did NOT get the bell notification at all for this episode. I guess it was because of the early release? Just letting you know because they do that for controversial topics often here

My absolute favorite thing to watch on KZbin. I’m not a military vet but I’ve always been crazy about it. Love watching war documentaries. When I saw your first episode it was the episode with Tyler Vargas Andrews. I love this show and want to say what an honor it is to be able to watch this so I want to shout out to you and all the vets and guys who have appeared on your show and tell yall Personally from a good ole country boy from Mississippi. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SACRIFICES AND ALL YOUR SERVICES AND FOR GIVING UP SO MUCH TO FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM AND COUNTRY. I myself am a firefighter for our small town and sure I look at all firefighters, police, first responders as hero’s but you guys are BIG time hero’s also and yall don’t get enough credit. Like I said I’m not a vet but I love watching you guys story and everything about the military. The chance of you @shawnryan seeing this is about as big as me getting to be on the show haha. I could literally sit and talk for hours on your show if given the chance. I’m no one special but I want to say guys like you are the kind I’ve always looked up too.Anyway I’m trying get my channel built up so if you don’t mind giving me a like and subscribe that would be awesome. That blue on blue situation sounded so scary and intense. I love the way he explained it. Shit happens in war, and in situations like that it's pure chaos until someone can get proper communication channels going. I couldn't imagine being on the ground during that. Knowing his friend is on the rooftop of the building being "overrun", and took a .50 cal round to the face and him knowing that in real time. All i can saw it wow.. That is a gnarly experience and story. Having to tell him "yeah it was friendly fire" would've been so surreal to hear. Thanks Leif for coming to Shawns Show and sharing your experiences. I remember your first podcast when Jocko had you on his podcast when he first started it. I've always loved your dedication to faith., and you actually taught me/ inspired me so be more accountable to my self, and realizing that only I can fix my problems and no one can do it for me. “For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18‬:‭25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ It’s a metaphor. A needle eye was a small opening at the base of an exterior wall of a city or a secured location. A camel would have to go down on its knees to go through it but it was possible. Most people with a lot of money worship their money but not all do. So it’s also possible for a rich man to get to heaven. I have really enjoyed watching your journey to Christ Mr. Ryan! Jesus knows those who belong to Him. He does draw us to Him through out our life. We stray, we sometimes loose our faith from undergoing trials, loss, emotional sufferings...but He knows, and He continues to draw us to Him...thank you Jesus! 🙏💜

Every person on earth belongs to him and he never gives up or stops reaching out. It’s us that turn away from him. There is absolutely nothing we have done in our past or could do that would keep him from having open arms when we seek a relationship with him. Jesus grace is amazing and beyond our comprehension.

Shawn I just wanted to say as a long time follower that I really appreciate your conversations about faith with your various guests. As an agnostic that was raised in the Christian faith it really speaks to me everyone of your guests experience with faith and the church in their lives. Personally I get so much from all of your episodes and guests that add to my own experiences. I hope you are able to continue this and please know that you are reaching people and teaching people that may not necessarily are ready to hear the message but are still receiving. My heart goes out to you. Thank you brother.

1. Pretty fun to hear two dudes tell their stories about BUDS and being there together. Few things are more fun that reminiscing with a bro like that. 2. I can only imagine the relief when the Instructors pulled Shawn out and gave him his brown shirt during Hell-week the sequel 3. Pretty infuriating to hear Babin say "Leadership didn't have a plan for Ramadi." What the actual fudge. "Let the ground commanders who are closest to the situation make decisions." It's baffling to know that these Army National Guard fill-in's weren't tasked with anything but to go out there and get in fights and/or blown up every day. 4. Refreshing to hear Babin give the National Guard Units their props for being in the fight despite sub-par equipment and training. 5. It's easy to armchair quarterback and criticize our GWOT leadership, Lord knows I have more than a few opinions. But the take-away for me is what Leif was told by Jocko, that there needs to be a plan to win. Don't go into anything with a "we'll see how it plays out" attitude, especially when lives are at risk. If the objective isn't to win, then what are we really doing?

Just wrapped up another incredible 5-hour episode. One more added to the list. This show is beyond amazing. It sharpened my awareness, pushed me to take even more action to protect my family, and strengthened my connection with God. It also gave me a deeper appreciation for the absolute badasses who risk their lives to protect us and this country. Truly an eye-opening experience.

I feel you. But I’ve come to the mindset they are going to hear it somewhere at some point. Share with them and get ahead of that aspect of it. I’ve explained to my kids that in a situation like this it’s punctuating a heavy situation. We all slip up. It’s not optimal or becoming of a person. But the lessons and information passed on by these episodes needs to be shared. Let them hear those words here vs a song on the radio or movie.
