I only found this song a few years ago, performed by Eddie Albert. I had found the background somewhere back then, and thought it was sweet. But, ever since I have wondered, were there witnesses? The husband? And how did he feel about this? Jealous, maybe? Or fond of his friend and trusts his wife? Were there Guests? And was there 'whispered behind the hands' gossip? And the 'Servants'! Well, this should go into a book, fiction with made up characters of course. A silly rom/com filled with innocence, but hidden in the shadows of jealousy, dislike, criminal hatred, and good fun. Thank you for sharing the history behind this poem. It was good to hear it again without having to search for it again.

Fan fact: "Jenny Kissed Me" featured in a Serbian movie "A Tight spot". It became fairly popular out there thanks to that movie.
