@@LeilaGharani nice to see this version of the solution explained. I never quite understood it. Seemed like it was harder than the version I learned. One of the funniest things that makes me laugh is that all the new cubes have a different color pattern than the originals. Originally it was blue on top and white on the bottom. Makes me ponder if they lost the specifications and had to start from scratch or if there was an intentional reason to change the sides.

I learned the cube like a year ago, but didn't practice. With your instruction it actually opened my mind!!! So I went back to it, practice with you several times AND ... I got an idea (which I am practicing since). Start from the fully resolved cube. Pick a piece and say: "I want to move that piece to a specific location on the cube w/ or w/out rotating in but in the end having the rest of the pieces in same spots" (so the result is some 2 pieces are in incorrect locations and rotated somehow). Then but the pieces back and pick a different piece. This is teaching me how I can move anything anywhere, but also building the sense for taking a look on the cube and just figure it out. I just hope this will have a outstanding end result of me being able to get say under 20 seconds by the end of the 2025 (starting at cca 2-3minutes).

Same feeling right now.. I read so many articles about he maths of the cube, and the algorithm like procedure it would take to solve it… but this video really shows the logic like Shrek onions : you have to go from the bottom white to the upper yellow, one by one. I never learned this methodology of right handling the cube , the white cross and then the nine o clock stuff. Very impressive as in finale, this way you really understand what you do when manipulating sides and corners. Big bravo to this video

I devoted all my spare time as a 22 year old in to solving this cube on my own and after some weeks, forget now, I managed it. I would demonstrate my solving skill to friends and family over the following 2 years but then stopped and inevitably forgot. I always remembered that it took up to 16 moves to correctly place a single cube on the final level. How I ever managed to work out how to solve the cube still surprises me to this day; I’m now 66 years old. Your video may just encourage me to pick it up again and demo to my grandchildren, thanks.

She mentions a method that will stick in in your head forever. For those interested in a solving method that does not use magic algorithms or patterns but pure logic, I recommend looking up commutators, the easiest method for solving corners using them called the Orozco method. It's a bit more brain work, and to be fair - it _is_ actually easier to just memorize algorithms, but once you learn commutators, the cube becomes something you've basically mastered, because you essentially learn how to place specific pieces wherever you want without disturbing the locations of other pieces. I should add that this way is **not for beginners**, but for some people it may be immediately intuitive.

I learned the Rubik's cube back in the early eighties using two cubes. One cube was unsolved for nearly two years, while the other cube(s) was taken apart over and over practicing moves to see what moves effected certain cube placements. These moves now are referred to algorithms. After almost two years I finally figured out a series of moves to solve the cube. It is way more time consuming of a process than this is. To bad KZbin wasn't around back then, it would have saved me a lot of headache and some money replacing the trial and error cubes, after about 30 time of taking them apart, the cubes became so loose that they wouldn't stay together. Your tutorial is one of the best out there. Removing fancy words like algorithms make solving the cube seem more doable.

I was way over 40 when I finally took the time to learn how to solve this thing. All my other middle-aged buddies be envious af right now - and I'm like: you're never to old to learn new things, unless you decide so. I love how you explain really slowly, because this is a daunting task for someone new at this and demonstrating it like that helps a lot! I use a slightly different/faster technique, where I combine the bottom corner with the corresponding edge in the same step. Either way, my aim was to do it with as few algorhythms as possible, leaning towards more repetitions than to more direct algos, which are more complex and harder to remember.

Think I tried when about 12 got reasonably fast to maybe yellow cross , or maybe I tried the corners first and had them solved and not the cross. All the kids in the class who could solve it read a book . I could consistently get to that pretty quickly, obviously no yellow or white , just started on easiest top to do and always had that colour on top. TBf just solving the top and middle in a few days or a week was pretty good - as still had to have a minds eye where the colours would end up

I could follow other videos and solve the cube, but I would never in a millions years be able to remember how to love it again on my own. Your tutorial, on the other hand, is incredibly helpful. Suggestion: at 25:35, there is a much simpler algorithm to swap two edges on the last layer: 1 - position the cube to have one of the pieces to be swaped on the front face and the other on the left face ("yellow" at the top, of course). 2 - do the following algorithm: R - U - R' - U - R - U2 -R' - U. Edit: This is the most USEFULL method for those who, like myself, want to solve other twist puzzles that are based on the 3x3 mechanics (for example, ghost cubes, axis cubes, mirror blocks, etc). I just use this method since 2013 - I'm not interested to learn dozens of algorithms. I'm a collectioner, not a speed cuber. Congratulations for the video!!!

You are a perfect teacher! You made me to understand how to move without deep algorithms. Thank you. I’m still learning though.

Step 7: "Ignore all the mess that we're making"....most reassuring words ever spoken 😊

Yeah! I can't believe I finally did it! and it literally only took 50 years (since I purchased my first one in '74 or '75. LOL Thank you, I also got the speed cube which did help a lot. I'm going to take your suggestion and practice each step daily until I get it memorized. Thank you again!

Best Rubik’s Cube tutorial I’ve seen. Thank you! Would you consider doing a tutorial for the 2x2 cube also?

I learnt the old way back in the late 70s when they were released, many an hour spent working it out and trying to beat my best time, 3 mins 25 seconds lol nothing compared to today's times but was an achievement back then. Picked one up about a year ago and solved in it about 5 mins. Scary when something you learnt, as a child and it still comes naturally to you without needing constant updates and new ways of learning.

Solving a Rubik's Cube was always one of those "I'd love to do that at least once" kind of things that I finally did because of this video. Super clear instructions and it was a blast to finally cross this off of a list of random things to do/accomplish. Thanks!!

I solve my rubic cube in a very different ways from your's and still remember how to solve it too. Was able to solve it about 35 years ago and still remembers how now.

I have tried learning the algorithms. But every time after a break in practice I forgot them😢. This is the best, easiest and most clear video available in the YT world. Thanks a lot for making those algorithms understandable.

This is by far the best tutorial for beginners. Love how you explain the logic behind each pattern. Glancing at your other videos, you seem like the kind of teacher every student wished they had during their studies.

Great tutorial. Followed your steps and solved a cube. Took probably about 45 minutes to go through the steps in the video. Look forward to repeating a few times till I can do the steps without the video. Thanks!

I've been solving, or not solving the cube since almost day one. David Signmaster showed me some tricks. This is by far the best tutorial I have ever seen in all those decades. I once solved a five by five cube at the Royal Albert Hall, at a Prom. I held it up in triumph and my friends applauded me - the entire rest of the Hall joined in - thinking the Leader had come on 🙂

Well, if you can solve the 5x5 you should be the leader 😁 Thank you for the kind words!

I love you Leila 💜 For the first time in my life I understand the cube. Tried it first time as a kid in the 80'ies and never came back to it. Today there is such a developed world around this thing. When I was a kid you where on your own with this complex thing 😅 Thank you! 💜
