@GeertDelmulle3 жыл бұрын
That is a nice little DAX lesson, very elegant! :-) Well done! This DAX-lesson format has many advantages over the Power Pivot interface format. Thank you very much! PS: in my understanding it doesn’t matter in which table you make your measures (I put mine in separate, dedicated table(s), since data tables may get replaced if they originate from power query, effectively deleting all measures inside their respective measure grids.
@GeertDelmulle3 жыл бұрын
PS: your trick ‘only’ works if all KPIs have the same data type. ;-)
@LeilaGharani3 жыл бұрын
True - a dedicated measure table makes it easier to find stuff. Also regarding data types - yes. A way around this is to add a cube formula to get the title for the chart. I guess we could also use a standard formula and a slicer that just captures which option is selected and we update the chart title to say "k $ Sales amount" or "number of orders" etc. Many thanks for your input Geert!
@GeertDelmulle3 жыл бұрын
@@LeilaGharani Good suggestion to put the actual unit in the Chart Title, but it becomes tricky if you need quantities in whole numbers and Sales Amounts with 2 decimal places. :-) Then again: if the result is a table, we could use conditional formatting. But in an Excel Chart that functionality is not available, IMO.
@LeilaGharani3 жыл бұрын
Agree - I tried with conditional formatting and also the Format function in DAX but it doesn't work in the chart. Just in the table. If the number of categories is fixed, we could probably extract the pivot data with formulas and then add a second series for the values - then use a standard chart over it.
@GeertDelmulle3 жыл бұрын
@@LeilaGharani Well,… the formatting of the elements in the chart is done via the formatting pane, and there you can’t use formulas in the fields. OTOH, if you do find a way, then that would make for a great Breakthrough video! :-)
