You are phenomenal to keep on showing your neighbors and friends what they are unable to fathom. Please keep up your vlog (so to speak) to give us neighbors and voyuers something to see and for those of us who are now emotionally attached to you, some hint of how you are! Many blessings!!!

@stevenputney87906 жыл бұрын
They are catchment tanks, for catching rainwater. The whole area is built on volcanic rock and littered with cesspools, nobody has wells. It rains 100-150 in of rain a year, so they catch the rain water for use in the home.

Thanks for the update Scott, my trusted news source! I was thinking that, what you are witnessing here is so incredibly amazing, history in the making if you will. It would be nice, with the public interest of such events, to allow operators to do tours to witness this event. It is difficult for most of us in the world to get the opportunity to see red hot lava, the likes of which you all see every day there. Why keep interested people away, if tourism can be done in such a way as to not endanger people’s lives, yet keep a segment of the economy going to help rebuild this community one day? An unrelated question: Fissure 8 still going strong I see... is it possible that, if this keeps continuing the whole year that this might begin to form a new volcanic peek.i guess that wouldn’t be a good thing for the residents though, if that happened.

Some are staying with relatives and friends. Others are in shelters. Last I heard the number of people in shelters was pretty small, so the assumption is that most are staying with friends and family. I think the numbers I heard were before #8 went crazy, so that may have changed.
