Ok 2 things: 1. It must have been weird staring at an empty space next to him for extended periods of time before the ghost was added in post production 2. It takes guts to chase an animated ghost across the street shouting at the top of your lungs wearing a ghostbuster outfit that looks more like it came from breaking bad

Did anyone here watch Casper the cartoon on TV? As a kid I loved it, and honestly enjoyed more than the movie. I just what I loved about the show vs the movie, was it more lively/creative and more aimed at kids, where as the movie tried to hard to please adults.

Whether it be the possessed man or the Harlequin cosplay hammering his chest going "Clear!" at the end. It's so touching to a fan like me. So... why didn't Casper's dad stick around as a ghost to finish the whole "bringing his dead child back to life" thing? That seems like some seriously unfinished business, unless he suddenly decided "Eh, who gives a fuck..." on his deathbed. If that's the case, bad parenting.

I can see a conversation going on between some of Doug's neighbors while they watch him run down the street in a Ghostbusters outfit screaming Casper. Child: Mommy, what's that guy doing *points to Critic from window* Mom: Oh geez, Bill! Doug's at it again. Should I call the police or the asylum? Bill: That guy is bringing down the property taxes. Don't call anyone yet, I don't want to see a repeat of last time. Mom: Oh yeah, the McKinley's wouldn't shut up about the lawn gnomes he destroyed for a week. Bill: Don't worry Barb. I'm sure someone will commit him soon. Barb: I hope so. He's bad for jimmy Jimmy: I wanna find Casper! Barb: Yes, I'm sure you do son. *Cue cheesy laugh track and fade to credits*

+ZilkenianDagger To be fair, you gotta take what the critic says lightly. Similar to other angry reviewers on KZbin, he exaggerates how bad something actually is for comedic effect. He's reviewed and destroyed plenty of movies I enjoy, but I still enjoy them. He nitpicks at every detail to make the review entertaining. If he just said "eh, the movie's ok" no one would watch.

+ZilkenianDagger As he reviews something, he always goes to the extremes for comedy, as TXF said. It's his final conclusion that you listen to for a fair evaluation of the movie. Was the movie good by the standards of a normal movie? By no means. But for a kids movie? It was all right. It could have been a lot better, but, like Critic said, it could have been so much worse.

Is it bad for me to still like this movie? I loved it as a kid and I guess it was a part of Cristina Rici being in it as Kat. But still I watched it all the time. Yeah it might be bad but like the Critic said at least they were trying and had some touching scenes with Kat and Casper. I wished they would have taken it more serious and it would have been a better movie.

It isn't bad to still like the movie.. even as an adult. I probably watched that movie at least a hundred times and maybe even more. The best part of this review is when they do all the jokes like "California roll, Closet case, Smellagram and the best line fo all time.. THIS SUCKS!" I like the ending when the critic changes into a ghostbuster uniform and chases casper. Now thats funny shit, i don't care who you are.

Don't feel bad. He also whet after a movie I like, and still do, as well. While I admit it has its bad moments, the good stuff balances out. Some of the good stuff NC didn't say or made it look bad when it isn't (compaired to what another movie does). Also, while I can see where the child actors can be annoying to some, it was ok to good for me, and I wasn't happy if they were killed or seemed to be. The movie I talk about is Rock A Doodle ;)

Something that always gets me... the dad looks for ghosts for a living. And he's spent years looking for his wife's ghost. He's 100% sure ghosts are real. They WHY THE FUCK does he flip his shit when he sees Casper for the first time? Hell he didn't even believe his daughter when she said she saw a ghost. What??
@angelgames8711
@angelgames8711 8 жыл бұрын
+TXF It's an aspect of human nature... Just because they know there is something they want to see or have, they don't necessarily believe they ever will. When they're put into a situation where they can, they freak out because their mind didn't process this far ahead. They don't know how to respond because they haven't had the same kind of chance to see it before. Similar to how perverts are when they're constantly being glomped by an attractive girl they like... sensory overload and disbelief.
@TXFDA
@TXFDA 8 жыл бұрын
Shiroe Megane (MaddHatter) I get that for him freaking out about seeing ghosts. But it still seems odd that he didn't even believe his daughter about seeing ghosts. You'd think a guy that hunts ghosts for a living would at least believe his daughter when she says she saw a ghost in the obviously haunted-looking house.

I actually enjoyed Casper, and still do. I don't really know why I enjoy it so much, but I do. And I thought that when Casper asked if he could keep Kat was actually really cute. Because he died at a young age, and he probably watched his parents grow old and die; then there was the possibility of people actually trying to sell the house, but never could because Casper's uncles (I don't know if they really were his uncles, I just remember him referring to them as his uncles) would scare the potential buyers away...so in a way all through out Casper's "ghost life" he's had people leave and he probably felt lonely, so when Kat and her father moved in maybe he just wanted to make sure that they won't leave him too and maybe he just wanted a friend.

What always bothered me about this movie was that if Casper's father had a device that could bring people back from the dead why didn't he use it on his son? The kids figured it out in like 2 minutes, did he die just after finishing and wouldn't that count as unfinished business? This still bugs me.

ShagonsHeart Good point. Also another thing that I never understood is why was the formula almost gone? Did Casper's dad bring back other people and simply forget to bring back his son?

hackman669 Also why didn't he write the formula down and place it somewhere that Casper could find it in case they run out.

Doug said that when he was at the con, he told everyone in the room that whatever was about to happen to "just...go with it ". I think that they did a great job with whatever Doug was improvising.
