That line actually caused an infamous moment in Nickelodeon history. When they aired the movie to celebrate Nickelodeon's 30th Anniversary in 2009, they played it after a brand-new episode of Back at the Barnyard. However, the people at Nickelodeon didn't like that line because Good Burger was a kid's movie, so the censors at the company made a television cut while they still had censoring the brand-new Back at the Barnyard on the mind. They replaced the word "ass" with "tail" as a homage to Back at the Barnyard, and it's the most laughable moment of censorship in Nickelodeon history.

"A burger with nothing on it!" "A meat patty is something!" Reminds me of how at my own job people will order a tuna sub with no meat. *Don't bring up "fish isn't meat, it's fish!" argument, because I will tell you that "pork isn't meat, it's pork!" because it comes from the same logic. Was it a member of the animal kingdom in life? Then it's meat.

Do they expect tuna on it or is it a case where they genuinely want everything but the tuna? It could make sense if they had no real customization option and were vegetarian or something.
@JasminePaygeBrooke10 жыл бұрын
Dongjun Yun The tuna subs we serve have tuna, lettuce, tomato, oil, vinegar, onions, and a bit of salt, pepper, and oregano. Other things if they ask. The subs are named after the meat in them, and if there's more than one meat, the meats will be named (i.e., Ham and Salami sub). And, I don't care what anyone tries to tell me, tuna isn't a vegetarian thing. It is a member of the animal kingdom, thus considered a meat, and it neither comes from seeds nor photosynthesizes, and is not an egg, milk, or cheese, so it is not a vegetarian option. If a vegetarian wants a sandwich, they will generally ask for a veggie sub (which isn't on the menu, but is still available at request).

I think people honestly look at this movie with their Nostalgia Goggles on. Seriously. The hard part of growing up is admitting that certain shows and movies we loved as kids just haven't aged well and that they were never that good to begin with. Doug is absolutely right. Good Burger isn't funny, no matter how "adult" the humor is, and the lessons are buried so deep in cheese that you can't possibly appreciate it. Keenan and Kel were never funny. I'm sorry, but it's the truth. Good Burger truly emphasized that better than anything else could.

@BladeCrossEXE10 жыл бұрын
Dunzee I did. It's silly. It's impossible. It's off the wall crazy, yet I love it so much. The entire point of this movie was satire. That's what the All That show and other similar programs like the Amanda Show were about, were they not? Over exaggerating every day concepts to make them seem more epic, more tragic, more exciting, and more dangerous than they actually are in real life. We laugh at that because we know it's not real. We laugh at Ed because it's hard to imagine anybody being that stupid. We laugh at Mondo Burger's hostile takeover because it's over-blowing greedy corporations like McDonalds, and we like to stand up for the little man, in this case, Good Burger. This guy DOES have some valid points on a lot of movies, but in some like this that are CLEARLY not trying to be serious, especially when the source material isn't serious at all, he reads way too deep into everything. I do love the inclusion of Yakety Sax though. I love that song.

Um... Kids don't understand the process of competitive business... So I am sure this was to aim for the teen viewers. Little kids think girls have kudies and they used a whore to trick good burger. And when it comes to fast food. All kids remember is the mascot and the kids meal toys. They really don't care too much for the food its self. It's the toy that counts... rendering this movie complete for young and older teens. Therefore. allowing critics to call it a horrible movie. Yes? Mmmmm, I am quite the detective. This was quite... Elementary? Dear Watson.
@LegoPack9910 жыл бұрын
Loron Li The "it's just for kids" excuse is extremely lazy, and not very good to begin with. If you're going to commercially release a product, you have to be able to accept the criticism from whoever receives it, regardless of if it's "just for kids."

You know, ever since 2009, Burger King hasn't been like they were, they've been trying to sell out more than they are trying to make good food, and I swear to GOD if they don't go back to their original ways, I would want to start an actual Good Burger fast-food chain (that is based off the Good Burger movie) (kind of like how Bubba-Gump did it with Forest Gump), that will cook and serve the food just like how Burger King did in the past (before 2009 where they started to sell out) with actually flame broiling the burgers, serving chicken tenders (real fillets of fried all white meat chicken breasts) instead of chicken nuggets, have a Good Burger Kids Club that gives you special deals and offers that you can get not just from Good Burger, but from other places as well (like Toys R Us or GameStop) and that includes contests and you'll get a special card that'll give you 3 free kids meal every month (the next month it starts over) and you buy more free meals from the Good Burger website, and coming up with clever and great ideas not just for profit, but to give the public what they want in their fast-food meal, good, well-cooked, food with our motto being "To Be Honest... We Just Do It Because We Like To Do It" (all with a 90's Fast Food Restaurant theme, cause the movie was made in the 90s) what do you think, would that be a good idea?

@Dameol9 жыл бұрын
cyanmanta because its a JOKE. Jokes take regular situations and exaggerate them to a comical extreme
@cyanmanta9 жыл бұрын
Dameol I fully understand that it was intended as a joke. However, he is ironically saying "abuse to women is funny" in a jokey-joke voice. The sarcasm/irony is the joke. But there is an underlying assumption - which is part of the setup, not part of the punchline - that what is happening to this character is tantamount to "abuse to women." It's not. It's slapstick. Do you see what I'm saying? What he said was intended as abusectuallyssumption user joke, but not the part of it you seem to think.
@cyanmanta9 жыл бұрын
Dameol No, the joke is the irony/sarcasm in his voice when he says it. That is the comic element that makes it a joke. The underlying assumption that "abuse to women" is taking place on screen - which it isn't, it's just slapstick - is not the comic exaggeration, it's just the set-up.

Good Burger is one of those guilty pleasures that I really love even though I know it sucks. I can't help it. It's especially fun watching it now and realizing just how ridiculous it is. The villain is so over-the-top for no reason, and he's clearly a massive idiot if he didn't think putting illegal drugs in his own food would ever backfire. What, people would get sick after eating there and not make the connection? I also felt bad for Sin Bad's character. Sure, he was also ridiculous, but it was bullshit that an unlicensed little shit damaged his car, that his cool mail boxes were destroyed, and then when his car was all back to normal, it was completely totalled. Poor guy.

This movie was hilarious. People won't like it now because humor has changed since the 90s. Not too many kid's comedies are going to hold up. Also remember that it's based on a sketch. How many movies based on a sketch were great movies? Night at the Roxberry? MacGruber? Superstar? The Ladies Man? Borat and Bruno? Mr. Bean? Even Monty Python has some moments you can say aren't funny now, especially if you focus on them. It did it's job. It kept 90s kids' interest for almost 2 hrs.

Still better than whatever Dan Schneider makes today(2014-today).

You know what's more shocking than Abe Vigoda being in this movie? The fact that the drummer from the police/composer of Spyro the Dragon, Stewart Copeland did the music for this film.

I wonder if John Candy was going to be in this too, but he died (cuz of reading the script of this movie was so bad it was fatal, that and just wrapping up another bad movie about Bacon that showed mike Moore should just stuck to docs) and was just replaced by that actor that looks like him. Just a thought...
@PunkyPink8510 жыл бұрын
Actually, that's Dan Schneider. He created All That, The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, etc.
@KangaKucha10 жыл бұрын
RoseRedd right, sure looks like John Candy though. I remember seeing the trailers for this as a kid, like 10-11ish, thinking it was him cuz I missed any news of his sudden and sad passing of a heart attack I believe. He was very cool, a great canadian, even an owner of a professional canadian football team Toronto Argonauts with Wayne Gresty (damn it 99, why don't you still? why dont you do more to help your country, instead of be Steve Nash who could have helped the Raptors in his prime, ugh!..), that I dearly miss. While a bad joke here, it's one to give him a wink and also say how bad this film is that it killed such a great actor and man even before it started. :)
@PunkyPink8510 жыл бұрын
Mathew Clemence Yes, I agree. I'm a big fan of John. He left us too soon.

RoseRedd Imagine if he lived and was in this. IMHO the movie would be a lit better and worth it to just see him :) RIP John, you are dearly missed.

I personally love Goodburger. I don't know if it's because of my 90s fetish or if I'm just an idiot (only according to the Nostalgia Critic), but I love its childlike innocence and mostly clean humor. I could compare it to the Three Stooges on a less physical level.

Who else thinks that Spongebob's Krusty Krab vs. Chum Bucket arc is a blatent rip-off of this movie? There's all the evidence. Ed is Spongebob, the other teen is Patrick. Sinbad is Squidward; the secret recipe from Mondo Burger is the Krabby Patty Secret Formula.

Remember, this is made by the same guy (Dan Schnider) who did The Amanda Show, Dick & Josh, iCarly, Zoey 101, and All That, INCLUDING seasons 7-10. Don't ever expect any form of hilarity from this guy. The only stuff his shows are good for are to include in historical documentaries about the downfalls of children's comedy.

You can't criticize this movie as a legitimate story, it's not meant to be taken seriously. I wouldn't criticize an Austin Powers movie, it's quirky plot was totally intentional.

This is why I love dubbing, my original watch of this movie wasn't in english, which means they were able to fix where the actors screwed and this is why nothing that critic says will ever strike my childhood at all. Critic is funny with the gun an all, but now watching the original makes me wonder if it was that bad.

tbh, I'm a huge kenan and kel fan and a fan of the original sketch so I loved this movie ;3 both when I was a kid (when it came out) and today as well for nostalgia and laughs. To hear that people didn't like it actually surprises me
