This movie could have worked if: The scientists acted like real scientists. The annoying "protagonists" mature and develop after their time within the dome. Say they start off ungodly annoying, but they turn into normal people by the end. The movie focused on other things instead of the two morons all the time. Make funnier jokes, add character, add development, show that the leads learned from their irritating ways, etc.

+MikePlaysIt This was based on an actual experiment called Biosphere 2. It was to examine conditions in a completely sealed environment and see if they can apply it to an outer space environment. There were two missions: the first was in 1991 and lasted for two years, and failed due to flaws in several of the fabricated environments. The second mission was in 1994 and lasted only 6 months due to management issues and factions among the scientists. It is now owned by the University of Arizona.

Critic, the reason why they did not just let them out, and restart, is because it wasn't in the script.

You know what I recently discovered when I read up about the possible sequel to this trash? This was suppose to be Bill&Ted 3 but Keanu Reeves at the time turned down the possibility and Alex Winter was busy with other projects so they couldn't get a hold of him. Sssoooooooo they change the characters name, the plot and did some recasting and rewriting. Thus... BioDome was made. Hoo-fucking-Ray.
@gallibon13196 жыл бұрын
I also heard at one point that it was supposed to be a more serious film at first, about two slackers who accidentally get trapped in a bio dome and have to learn to cope and help the scientists but then it was changed into a 90's comedy, which is what we get here.

If you think about it, Bio-Dome would actually make a good tragedy. The actual hero has to watch two sociopaths who are able to make everyone like them ruin his entire life's work. If they made the movie like that, it could almost be confused for Machiavellian writing.
