Anthony Newley - I seem to remember was married to Joan Collins (Dynasty) at one time. He had a lot of hits here in the UK, before rock music got more of a grip - Strawberry Fair and Pop Goes The Weasel were fun novelty songs, and ballads like What KInd of Fool Am I? And he had a stage and film career too. A big name in his day.

My family was in Vegas in the late 60s (early 70s?) and my folks wanted to take in a show. The only one we could get in to was Anthony Newley. He was a really unique and charismatic showman and songwriter. We had no idea what to expect, but loved him. He was so entertaining we went to see him again at the Greek Theatre a couple of months later. Look forward to hearing your story.

By the way: I saw Mike Porcaro in one of his last shows at the Burg Clam in Upper Austria (restrict Perg] and there were the first signs of his disease (of later being diagnosed as ALS). Not that I noticed it, but TOTO (don’t remember who said it, I don’t think that it was Mike himself) said on stage that Mike had a problem with his arm/hand.

Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley wrote the lyrics to Goldfinger. John Barry composed the music and had Michael Caine staying at his house at the time. Caine couldn't get any sleep as Barry was "banging away at the piano all night". In the morning Barry told him it was the Goldfinger theme. Caine was the first one to ever hear it.
