It isn’t much of a plan in comparison to Lelouch already planning the steps to world domination.

One thing that is constantly misinterpreted that I feel needs to be pointed out: Lelouch did not Geass/command "God". Both Charles and Lelouch acknowledge that Geass ("the Power of the King") cannot be used to control/manipulate/"defeat God". Hence why Lelouch said that he does not intend to "defeat God. This is a request." He ASKED, instead of commanding. He wanted "God" to not stop "the march of Time". The Geass sigil is "God" giving their answer, essentially accepting Lelouch's request and destroying the Thought Elevator and Sword of Akasha, before using C's World to absorb Charles and Marianne, since they were little more than lingering spirits at this point

@billyhopkins10Ай бұрын
It’s just a metaphor. Because Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system, throughout human history it has been considered a symbol of power/god. Jupiter is named after the king of the gods in ancient Roman religion and mythology. In this anime’s case Jupiter is the symbolism of “God” that’s why the souls are linked to it. Geass in the anime is also called “the power of the king”. So it makes sense that it is Jupiter when it is the king of “gods”. You’re not meant to understand all the intricacy’s of C’s world. Just see the symbolism. I just think of it as a place between life/death nonexistence/reality and this place is just the bridge between all of it.

That old theory was proven wrong years ago. Also, the creators have always OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED that LELOUCH IS DEAD. There's interviews, tweets, the official guide book, they even completely remade the epilogue on the blu-ray. streamable.com/d8dji On top of that code theory has been debunked for years. And the sequel is even called "Lelouch of the RESURRECTION"! There's a reddit post which compiles all of the official statements, including sources and links, and shows where and how the anime contradicts all of the code theory core points. www.reddit.com/user/GeassedbyLelouch/comments/8hklfr/evaluating_code_theory_main_body_index/ It's a long text, but a MUST read for all code geass fans. As an example, here are the tweets from the creators: - "Before I started writing the story of a person called Lelouch, I confirmed with Taniguchi-director something. That thing was that the end of Lelouch will be DEATH." - "At least he is aware of his sins and pays for them with his DEATH. This is mine and Taniguchi-director' sense of ethics in our works." - "This man called Lelouch will pay for his sins by his DEATH. The story follows him till he finally make this decision." - "Probably this Lelouch we see in the first episode of the series wouldn't choose DEATH. He would try something to avoid it. He couldn't DIE, for Nunnally as well. But we see him changed in the last episode." I don’t like to think that Good and Evil are two sides of the same coin, but rather that each concepts are their own coin, that one can exist without the other, I want World Peace, equality, and happiness for all, but I don’t think any of the groups or organizations out there trying to make it happen, unless a lot more people work together
@bman2962 жыл бұрын
I hate to be a pessimist but good and evil balance each other out one cannot exist without the other. When the world grows stagnant, when things don't appear to be moving forward like what Charles was trying to do evil is born to take advantage of that stagnation but it doesn't start out as evil. No, almost all evil deeds are born from good intentions. It's only when others realize that those good intentions have evolves into evil that they do good and try to stop that evil is it born. We as humans don't view our actions inherently evil especially in the heat of the moment. I could go back in time and kill Hitler while he was a baby and while I know that would spare millions of lives to everyone else I'd be a villain who just murdered an innocent newborn. So long as humans have emotions and individuality we will disagree on things. When multiple groups of people are willing to die for their beliefs that's how wars are started. So I ask you if you could obtain world peace by stripping away humanity's individuality would you do it? Because without it we wouldn't be human at all just robots. I wouldn't, while I find wars and fighting unpleasant its just how humans are. Should we try and foster understanding and lessen hatred? Yes but we shouldn't be trying to completely establish world peace. Problems exist so we can grow. Our pain defines us and what Lelouch did wasn't make world peace he ended a cycle of hate so people could move on. He knows human nature and that by letting it go forward it'll become a better place even if things look bleak at times.
@carsenmaxwell33362 жыл бұрын
@@bman296 That is a very good idea, but what Lelouch did was create World Peace, what do you mean? He killed his parents, took over their Empire, got rid of the social elite tradition, liberated all of the individuals he fought alongside, then he made everyone focus their hatred on him so that they’d forget all of the previous reasons they were fighting. Then he orchestrated his own execution so there’d be nothing left to hate, everyone would move past their past grudges, cooperate, and every nation(except Zilkhstan) understood that war is nothing to revere, the Britannians lost their taste for war and oppression after so many were afflicted by it, diplomacy and democracy increased, and World Peace was established. There were those would frown at world affairs, a Japanese group of extremists who were remnants of the Japan Liberation Front called The Japanese Revolutionary Army(Lelouch of the Re;Surrection manga) and in the movie the villains were Zilkhstan, the Land of Warriors, the country was 90% dirt and sand, they were the most powerful military force, a million Britannian soldiers couldn’t stop 12,000 of them, their soldiers were the only resource they had to export to other nations, their economy couldn’t thrive in a world without war, perfect storytelling if you ask me, and I agree with what you said about killing Baby Hitler, which is probably why if anyone went back in time they probably should kill Hitler before he was elected Chancellor, anyway, I try to be optimistic, and what you said is realistic, not necessarily pessimistic, but I like to have hope that evil won’t exist one day. I like to hope that World Peace isn’t an achievable dream, I just don’t think any world leaders or organizations are capable of bringing about that dream, none of them have the resolve to truly help people, and I don’t want to be labeled idealistic or self-righteous, I know how the world works, I know that most nations are stubborn, prideful, and stuck in their ways for how the world works: One nation supposedly must be supreme, which is what all nations strive for, Russia and China want to be #1, and I read that people think that European Union will replace America, I say America has been supreme for what 77 years? And what good have they done to earn that? America is called the land of freedom, acceptance, and opportunity, but the history is covered in bloodshed, genocide, taking territory from the Native population, segregation, racism, sexism, discrimination against anything that isn’t understood, and while people are supposed to have better rights than they did in 20th century, but this so-called united nation divides itself everyday: we divide ourselves between our parties, are you pro-life or pro-choice, America needs changed just as much as the rest of the world, America supremacy is a cruel joke, I just hope that another Raegan or someone better comes along to fix the world, equality, happiness, peace, and not this idea that the nations of the world will never accept each other, I also disagree with the concept that soldiers must see enemy soldiers as non-human, that it is supposedly justified to use slurs against them during times of war: in WW2 the Japanese were called Yellow or Japs, the Germans were called Krauts, and while they may have been cruel at the time, they weren’t non-human, there’s also this nice story as Chiune Sugihara, a righteous Japanese politician who was sympathetic to the Jews, he gave them passports to other nations, it’s in this book I own, good story. In high school, I named heroes from WW2, most of them were from the Axis Powers: Oskar Schindler saved Jews by employing them in his factories, there was an Italian who saved Jews by integrating them into Spanish society, good men can come from anywhere, no matter what time, hopefully it happens again. I compare Suzaku to the Uncle Toms of history, the Black Men who fought as officers of the slaver nation called the Confederacy, and the Jews whose families were killed while they were allowed to serve in the Nazi armies, Suzaku is the worst character ever made ever, but you were right about his evil coming from good intentions, and Lelouch also had good intentions, but I feel his actions are more justified because he understood more than Suzaku ever did, it took Suzaku adding 35,000,000 more lives to his killcount to realize that the means do not justify the ends or are more important than the end result, the end result sometimes is the most important thing

@@carsenmaxwell3336 temporarily, but how long till that peace crumbles? Conflict is human nature and Lelouch knows it. He isn't an idiot. Hell even in R3 the peace only lasted a year and its an alternate timeline. Even then in moments of peace there is still shit wrong with the world. As I said as the world grows stagnate there will be those dissatisfied with it and try and make a change, corruption will grow, and people will take advantage of it. that's just the cost of being sentient and individuality.

Charles going straight Danny Phantom and trying to choke slam his son but Lelouch not moving an inch and just standing there grilling him then telling Suzaku who's the only one there who can actually fight and everyone clearly knows it to "stay out of it" when he knows damn well he can't fight his way out of a wet paper bag just show's how brilliant Lelouch really is... Even in this moment when he's at his weakest having no knightmare or real allies with him since C2 betrayed him and Suzaku hasn't decided to join him yet and fighting his greatest enemy in their own home field advantage pretty much everyone is against him he puts on his best poker face and bluffs so well like he's not afraid and is in complete control of the situation that Charles actually believes him and dies... SO while being choked and not being able to do anything to stop it he pretty much goes "Nah Suzaku chill I'm not dying look he is..." so convincingly that Charles believed it and died! Because before Lelouch said what he said Charles was dying very slowly but after Lelouch says "Begone now!" Charles disappears instantly! So it's like after Lelouch was able to convince "God" to grant his request he's able to convince his dad to just die... How else can you explain why Charles disappears faster after Lelouch tells him to fuck off?

Suzaku: Lelouch, what was your motivation for wanting to control the world? Lelouch: Don't waste my time Suzaku, you know it was Nanali. Suzaku: Or are you just using her as your excuse? Lelouch: Hm, yes you're right. I am, I have fought to protect everything I thought I wanted to protect. Suzaku: IF you're going to achieve that end, you're going to need to take action. Lelouch: Yes, the means to that end requires me to reject something. Suzaku: Which is? Lelouch: That I, I reject you and I reject everything you believe!! Why do people lie? It isn't only because they struggle against each other, its also because there's something that they're seeking. You NOW want a world without change? How stagnant! You could hardly call it LIFE, the same as a world of memories. Just a world that's closed and completed. That's a place I wouldn't want to live in. Marianne: But Lelouch, are you saying you're rejecting ME as well? Lelouch: That depends, is your desire the same as his majesty's, mother? Marianne: It would be so good to rejoin all the people from whom we've been seperated. You could be reunited with those who have died! Even Euphemea! Lelouch: As I expected. You both believe that this world you envisioned would be best for all, but forcing your good intentions on others is no different from an evil act. Charles: In time, the people will come to accept it. Lelouch: THAT TIME WILL NEVER COME! Only one thing is undeniably certain, I understand now that what you did to Nonali and me may have been done out of good intentions. But, the hard fact remains that you abandoned us in a foreign land! Marianne: But we did that to protect you! Lelouch: Then why didn't you stop the war between Japan and Britania?! The plan was such a priority for you both, that it didn't matter to either of you if Nonali were alive or dead. That's why you abandoned us!! All you have left are self-serving excuses! Marianne: Lelouch! You're wrong! Lelouch: You just told me! You said the dead would rejoin the living! You don't give a DAMN about the future! Charles: The future is the Ragnorock connection. Once its finally done the gentler existence Nonali spoke of will- Lelouch: STOP IT! The world you're speaking of will be kinder and gentler ONLY FOR YOU! The world that my sister wished for, is one in which kindness is extended to everyone, even strangers. Suzaku: He may be right. At the very least, Euphy never said that Lelouch was ZERO. Even to the very end, Shirley didn't either. That's why I... Charles: Lets say it was true, what of it? There's nothing to be done about it. The Ragnorock connection has begun. Lelouch: You think so? I am ZERO, the man who works miracles. Charles: Your Geass power will have no effect on me. Nor will it on anyone else here. Lelouch: No, there's someone else here, isn't there? Charles: Ah! Lelouch: That's right. C's world is the will of mankind itself. And all men are not equal, remember those words? They're your own! And because of that, I'm sure you realize that my power WILL work. Charles: You're a fool Lelouch! God cannot be defeated by the power of the King! Lelouch: I don't intend to defeat God, this is a request! Yes, now I know who I really am, God, collective unconscious! PLEASE DON'T STOP THE MARCH OF TIME!!

Man I still don't fully understand what the fuck went on in this scene or what the thought elevator was or whether Lelouch used his Geass or simply asked the Collective Unconscious but either way this was such a badass scene! It's so sad though, all this time Lelouch was trying to avenge his mother and sister, only to learn his mother was in on this whole thing... And that one line at 1:44 is just so powerful, "Only one thing is undeniably certain. I understand now that what you did to Nunnally and me may have been done out of good intentions, but the hard fact remains that you abandoned us in a foreign land!" Pretty much his entire speech is quotable, but that line in particular stands out to me for some reason. Maybe because it's true, because parents sometimes do things to scar their children despite having good intentions. As they say, "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions". And while it is "the thought that counts", the sad reality is that they abandoned Nunnally and Lelouch in favor of their grand plan. Although, I would argue Marianne did at least have some love for her children, even if sadly she ultimately discarded that love for the sake of her own goals. She had C.C. watch her son and report to her what was going on, and she's probably the reason C.C. intervened and jumped in front of Lelouch when he was about to be shot at the beginning of the series (when she yelled "he mustn't die!") Even so... in the end Marianne chose a false reality over a real one, that's why she was absorbed into C's World, right? Such an amazing series, and yet it's so frustrating because there are so many unanswered questions. Who are those people we see with the Geass sigils on their foreheads when C.C. first gives Geass to Lelouch (and later on every time she uses her power). What is that planet? Is that where they originally came from? I half-expected C.C. to turn out to be a member of an alien race with Geass powers but nah apparently she was a regular human before being given the Code. How many Code Keepers are there, by the way? Who was the first? Where did this power originate from and how exactly does it work? What is the "thought elevator" and this whole Sword of Akashi that Charles built? What does it do exactly and what was Charles planning on doing if Lelouch hadn't shown up? What is C's World? What does the "C" stand for? What is C.C.'s real name? Why does she go by C.C.? What does C.C. even stand for?! Or V.V. for that matter? So many unanswered questions! 😭 Edit: God, 5:22 hits really hard too.

Code Geass is one of my favorite anime of all time, I've watched it several times throughout the years. To this day I still don't fully understand this whole portion of the story, it was such a bizarre addition. You had a great political drama with awesome mechs for action and a singular magic power that was used as a plot device and which didn't really need explanation of its origin (or C.C. for that matter, some mysteries are better left unanswered). All of a sudden the emperor's immortal, his dead mom is alive and we're fighting God, I mean what? The story got too ambitious there and the writing just got messy. I just don't think it fit the tone and themes of the series up until that point, it's kinda like how they introduced aliens at the end of Naruto. Otherwise brilliant anime, but it would have been even better if they didn't include this crap.
@stormsniper47659 ай бұрын
@@mrgalaxy396I kinda disagree with you. This entire scene has been foreshadowed from the beginning with Charles inside the thought elevator. This is also a key as to what Geass actually IS. It’s a mans will made manifest. Geass caters itself to the user. Rolo got time stop for assassination for example. When lelouch said all man are not equal he figured out that he was the only one who could ask God to not stop the march of time. Lelouch desired a better future where Charles wanted a world without lies like when he was a child. This is the extreme point of their ideologies clashing. CG always had a supernatural element to it since EP1 and the show wouldn’t be the same without this whole ordeal.
