Some people might think he only gave us star wars and indiana jones....... but by creating companies like ILM and PIXAR he gave us so much more.....

He single handedly revolutionized the film medium itself! No movie could ever be made without stealing from Lucas' blueprint since '77! We love you George and from the bottom of that six year old boys heart who sat in the theater next to his mom watching Star Wars when it was first released, Thank you and May The Force Be With You Master!

It warms the heart to see these two giants, passionate geniuses sharing this moment. George Lucas had gratitude, respect and popular recognition, but to finally see all this recognized by the profession is a fair return for his talent and his contribution to making us experience all these years of incredible moments of cinema.

this should wake up the Oscars to give this man an Honorary award as well.

Crazy how George Lucas also helped out Francis on the Godfather while he was struggling with the studio. He was a star before Star Wars.

Pretty cool to have both of the founders of American Zoetrope on stage together. You can also see the genuine love and affection Francis has for George.

If I'm honest with you, I think you should check the 1973 Oscars, where George and Francis were not better than a big studio film with American Graffiti. I watched both, and I still believe they deserved their respective awards
