When my kids were little, I bought a lot of their baby clothes at garage sales, often getting totally adorable, expensive clothes that were hardly used, but had that exact type of spit up stain on them. I found some thing that works every time! Here it is: wet the fabric, take Oxsee clean, or another good quality, oxygen, dry bleach, mix it with just enough water to make a paste. Put the paste heavily on top of the stain, roll the fabric up into a long jelly roll type type role. Put the role with any other clothes being treated, rolled up also as tightly together as possible, packed into the bottom of a pan or any other water proof container. Cover them with just enough water to submerge them. Weight the fabric down with plates or anything else that will keep all the fabric submerged underwater. Soak them for a minimum of two hours, then wash as usual. I have never had a food stain on clothing resist this treatment!
