I have spent many hours with Len on both the Fowler & Burrell in all weathers. + endless cups of tea from Jayne + rock cakes. I consider all a nice compilment. I personally respect Len's ability and thank him for the opportunity to be involved. Kind regards. Mick Fleming. + 2.10ths.

Hello Mick. Glad you like what we have done. Whilst filming with Len and Jane we met more than one 'Mick' did we meet you? Len and Jane are great characters working with them was a pleasure. We are considering a second DVD which would be looking at the various events they have and possibly will attend this year as well as other engines and friends that they know, particularly 'Jane the roller'. Followers of the late great Len Crane may find some of my video footage on KZbin of interest, steam traction engine rally newhall street city centre Birmingham, outside of the old science and industry museum an annual event used to take place during the month of May, the footage is from the 1980s filmed on a Sunday afternoon, sadly the rally came to an end after the museum closed and moved to millennium park think-tank museum near to the the HS2 terminal when it's finally built,i have great memories of the old museum living in the city and visiting many times and of course wonderful memories of the engines and Pat Collins Wonderland fairground organ which features in the video.

Hello You are right Len was not only very talented and determined man but also a very kind and welcoming man. We attended and filmed his 'farewell' at the Black Country Living Museum, a very emotive and moving event. The two crane engines were arranged with their Jib arms meeting, two wreaths in his racing colours dangling down as his coffin moved under and then stopped, before moving on. As he left the combined sound of the their two sirens were joined by endurance standing behind them and it echoed across the Black Country as he was driven away. We have been filming for 18 months or so with the intent of making a second DVD about his engines and those who worked with him and with his passing we will be completing that later this year.
