Downcast Skies Sleppu probably learned how to draw on paper, there is no such thing as "layers" in paper, so traditional artist develop ways to make articles like that without layers. To put it in a simpler way: they're basically drawing how they would on a piece of paper.

Interesting thing about Poltergeists: unlike ghosts, they aren't the spirits of the deceased. Rather, they're mischievous or malevolent energies that 'haunt' in a similar manner to ghosts. This distinction makes them well-suited to Vocaloid characters, in my opinion.
