This was my great grandmother’s favorite movie and song. I just remember back in the late 80’s she was in her late 80’s, and she would sing this song around the house. Lena Horne really captured the essence of a broken heart. Stormy weather . I really missed you today listening to this song. 30 years since I’ve heard your voice, but I hear it in this song because it was your favorite. RIH grandma Sadie.

One of my favorite voices in all of history. Every note so pure, so strong, so packed with feeling, and so beautiful it sends chills up my spine. You can keep your vocal gymnasts with their pretty but lifeless singing. Give me Lena instead.

Beautiful both Lena & Cab's Orch. I rented & then bought the whole movie on VHS; hard to believe it was over 30 yrs. ago. If you have a chance to see the movie "Stormy Weather", it's a wonderful experience. Plus you'll know why Fred Sanford was crazy about Lena Horne.

As I sit here in 2021 listening to the angelic voice of Lena Horne it bothers me that according to my grandmother, this beautiful woman had to suffer horrendous discrimination during the prime of her career. It's really sad when you stop and think about it.

A very great artist,who has left her mark in the memory of people all over the world.Let's just remember that at the time of filming, a strict segregation between whites and blacks (...and mestizos) existed in the United States. White Europeans were suspicious of foreigners, especially if they were of another color... but this segregation never existed in Europe
