This was my great grandmother’s favorite movie and song. I just remember back in the late 80’s she was in her late 80’s, and she would sing this song around the house. Lena Horne really captured the essence of a broken heart. Stormy weather . I really missed you today listening to this song. 30 years since I’ve heard your voice, but I hear it in this song because it was your favorite. RIH grandma Sadie.

Don't know why There's no sun up in the sky Stormy weather Since my man and I ain't together Keeps raining all the time Life is bare Gloom and misery everywhere Stormy weather Just can't get my poor self together I'm weary all the time The time So weary all the time Since he went away, the blues walked in and met me If he stays away, old rocking chair will get me All I do is pray the Lord above will let me Walk in the sun once more Can't go on Everything I had is gone Stormy weather Since my man and I ain't together Keeps raining all the time Keeps raining all the time I walk around heavy-hearted and sad Night comes around and I'm still feeling bad Rain pouring down blinding every hope I had This pitterin', patterin', beatin' and spatterin' Drives me mad Love, love, love, love This misery is just too much for me Can't go on Everything I had is gone Stormy weather Since my man and I ain't together Keeps raining all the time Keeps raining all the time

That's right. And it's both the mark of a great natural talent, AND of hard work so that the effort for perfection is not noticed. A very great artist, who has left her mark in the memory of people all over the world.Let's just remember that at the time of filming, a strict segregation between whites and blacks (...and mestizos) existed in the United States. White Europeans were suspicious of foreigners, especially if they were of another color... but this segregation never existed in Europe
