I'm a fossil we called them a buffet spread, then later a Meza now in the past decade-gasp-same stuff different decade it is now charcuterie. (eye roll) Ask your relatives and you will find classy cheese boards, meat boards, etc. VERY 1950-1990's except I cringe when I see meat and sensitive diary on same boards as veggies, fruits and breads. If a long grazing party you need to have meats and sensitive diary separate from your hard cheeses and veggies. Learn the food safety rules before planning your party and graze-out.

What a podcast! Love Handsome, have just spent the weekend binging every show, and having the best belly laughs I've had in a long time! On this subject, I think that there are only two things we need to do to change the world and that is to outlaw greed and religion. Think about it, there'd be no more wars, poverty would be eliminated and the world would not be in the state it is today, environmentally, socially and physically.

I've been eating that way since 1994, but since having cancer and now being in remission and planning to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim in two weeks -- I am finding myself really stepping it up with cooking, and the plant-based emphasis is a key aspect what gives me seemingly endless endurance. 💚🌀☀️

Empathy is good but only to a point. As someone who can suffer from too much empathy it can be debilitating and frightening at times. I wish I could remember who I heard giving a speech about compassion. Compassion is empathy without suffering And I believe more compassion in the world would change so many of the things that we struggle with in humanity.

I went to a catholic primary school back in the early eighties, and every few months or so we would be given a chance to do confession. I wasn’t religious but I would go every time, because it was a way to ditch class for a bit. We didn’t have those confessional booths at our school: it was just done in the priest’s office at the back of the church. It was awkward and the priest was always quite disinterested. One day, the police arrived at the school and dragged off the priest and the headmaster. Turns out they’d been doing stuff to some of the boys. As an adult, I realised it must’ve happened in that office where we would be alone with the priest during confessionals. He was obviously disinterested in me because he was just waiting for the next boy to come in

Opening oneself up to being hurt again is not necessarily weakness. It could very well be strength. Being vulnerable shows strength. There's a limit, of course. One doesn't want to bang ones head against a brick wall, so to speak, or repeatedly walk into a sharp blade. But in general, vulnerability is not weakness.

I used to work for a Catholic priest. He told me that as a kid they gave him the example of a confession when he was learning. “I fought with my brothers and sister, and I told a lie.” After a couple years he realized he had not actually done these things every time. He had a crisis of faith, because he’d been lying to the priest in the confessional. Serious sin, there.
