I am the blonde dancer on the right of this number. I did the whole 6 week series as one of the dancers, and my sister is also in this. Her boyfriend, Lud, was the choreographer, and they both used to look out for Lena. From these numbers, all of her series, you would never know she was suffering. She was so quiet off set, yet on set, you'd think she was the life and soul of everything. She obviously didn't realise how TALENTED she was. I recently watched about her life, and was shocked that many years later, how thin she had become, as she had progressed with her anorexia . I almost didn't recognise her. I was so shocked when my sister told me Lena had died, as my sister and Lud, worked with her many times. Soooo tragic and such a LOSS to the Entertainment world. She could have been in her 60's now, and enjoying her life had things been different for her.

@@athome-v2n Hello Paul, I just saw this text. That's great that you got to know Lena so well. She was quiet around us, seemed shy, so I never knew the real her. It was just amazing how she came more to life in rehearsal and on the set. So hopefully she loved her career. I don't think she appreciated herself. On reading about her husband, seems the totally wrong bloke for her, sounded like a big drip. Shame, as I dont imagine she dated much, so married the wrong guy. My sister worked on a few series of Lenas, so she got to know her a bit. Very sad loss, as Lenas could have maybe been a Mum now, nurturing children of her own. Nice to hear from you.

Wonder what she had to endure at the hands of the BBC? If you actually take the time to think about it, unaccountable corporations that answer to no one and are funded regardless have pretty much a licence to do whatever they please. Sooner we rid ourselves of this concept, the better.
