No mention of Public Enemy or James Browns Funky Drummer? Or Ingrid Chavez? There’s a whole lot of history tied to this iconic controversial song. It was also the first music video single ever released and the highest selling one in history too, incredible time in pop culture. Madonna was HUGE. On another note .. how could they both not know that that’s Lenny crooning in the background throughout the entire song? It’s so obvious.

Such a great song. I was a little girl when it came out and I was so curious about it because it was instantly controversial, people were losing their minds over it. I had no idea Lenny wrote the song and sang backup vocals, he is a very talented writer and performer

Hearing him say "I wrote it but I knew it wasn't for me, this is not something I would do" makes me think of Dave from Foo Fighters talking about writing 'Everlong'. He once said in an interview that he wrote that song and sat on it for a long time because 'it's not a foo fighter song' but then reasoned with himself, *Well I'm in Foo Fighters and I wrote it so what the hell* - and people love that song!
