They are saying the have samrt charging enabled (battery conservation mode in lenovo vantage/vantage widget) thats y battery is draining by 1% per 1/2 min, y giving 60wh battery and this mode make no sense, it would have with more wh battery. @@yuvrajkaushal4852 haan bhai 3.5 to 4 hrs max chal jayega continuously battery pe. 6hr backup toh i think kisi bhi gaming laptop nahi deta. personally, mein kabhi bhi dgpu (gaming mode) band hi nahi karta. hamesha on rakhta hu. mujhe easily 2.5 ghante ka backup mil jaata hai battery pe, without battery saver. if you turn on battery saver and use your laptop on eco friendly mode it can give you 4hr backup at max.... shayad 4.5 hr bhi chal jaye

also use conservation mode from vantage... don't keep the battery @100 if you are using it on charger & you know that you are going to use it for longer period.... my 2021 ideapad gaming 3 still has 94% battery health.. i started using conservation mode after 6 months of purchase.. its very helpful as I'm all time plugged in because i use 3d softwares and use external 2k monitor... so plugged in and battery automatically stays between 60-65

@@NEXUS442 conservation mode limits your lenovo laptop to around 60%, it hovers between 60-65% automatically.. it doesn't let the battery charge upto 100%.. So, when you are using the laptop for longer period, you can use it while plugged in.. basically it is not using your battery anymore, as it's like running off your charger.. and the battery stays at around 60%.. Like this you don't have to charge your battery again & again when you ee are using it for longer periods, also it's not letting the battery go to 100% as keeping thr battery at 100% is also not good .. this way the battery health remains very good as the battery is not doing the charging - discharging cycle... Also, plugged in laptop gives the best performance.. mostly noticable when gaming or when doing heavy tasks... For example -I use my laptop for 12hrs+ every day, so my gaming laptop runs 3 hrs on 100% battery, but i do 3d stuff, so under heavy load it will last 1hr maybe, so do the calculation how many times i have to charge the laptop to use it for 12hrs a day.. (very bad for battery health) If I don't use conservation mode, and use the laptop with charger, it will stay 100% for more than 12hrs throughout my usage.. (also, bad for battery health) But if i use charger + conservation mode, my battery will stay @ around 60% throughout the 12hrs of usage (as the laptop runs through the charger and the battery stays @ 60 = very good battery health in long run) *My laptop will be 3years old this October and the battery health is still around 93%

Not in games but the general refresh rate of the monitor when I connect it with my laptop through HDMI cable. My laptop display screen 1 is 144hz but the external monitor screen 2 is only giving an output of 120hz.

I've got a Gigabyte G series 165 Hz monitor connected to my PC's GPU through HDMI port, and it gets capped to 144 Hz because it's not connected to the GPU through the Display Port. So, I guess the same is the issue with yours and laptops don't come with display ports. If you want max refresh rate on your monitor you should consider getting a PC with a newer GPU.

Battery drain is present in all LOQs with 3050 and above GPU models that ship with 170W adapter. Mobo issue is much less with AMD models.

I guess there's a reason why the stock BIOS has an option to completely disable the battery and run only off the 170W charger, as it can't charge both the battery and power the rest of the motherboard at the same time when the TGP is already at 105W with the CPU at 45W of TDP. The rest goes to the screen backlight and chipset. Lenovo's documents even state the TGP is higher with the 230W charger.

Let me give you some idea, if you remove the charger and just stay in idle state, check the battery drain from Hwinfo64, it'll be like total 25-35W... so entire system is drawing 35W from the battery.

12450HX 4060. The GPU upgrade is more worth than the CPU upgrade in this case. The extra 2 GB VRAM is really worth it, meanwhile the performance jump from the 12450HX to the 13450HX is not that significant. Also the lower risk of the 12th Gen LOQ compared to the 13th Gen is icing on the cake.

Basic rule: Future proof the GPU as GPUs last much lesser than CPUs. 12450HX will last 10 years, while 4050 is already outdated.

update as he mentioned I also faced the same battery drain issue while playing ghost on tsushima.. when plugged in with the 170w charger provided by Lenovo on my brand new Lenovo loq. All I did was turn off the rapid charging mode. And my issue was solved 🙂 .. it worked for me

The BIOS is literally programmed to use battery+ac adapter power to reach power targets. There is a BIOS update to fix it, but it is not fully effective, it's better than previous though. Anyways it's not a huge concern - it's your wish to upgrade the adapter.

Motherboard dying is not related to adapter. It's related to Intel/Lenovo. 13th and 14th gen are highly susceptible to this. Rewarding power adapter - the laptop requests power from the power adapter as per it's needs. Not the other way round. This is common sense.

On your HP Laptop, the battery charge capacity is dynamically limited by HP battery optimizer. We have HP Victus with 70Whr battery and depending on load, sometimes 100% charge = 50Whr, sometimes 100% charge = 45Whr etc.. other times it's back to 70Whr. It can be seen in HP assistant app. For the LOQ I haven't seen it go below 97% and I am yet to try by using conservative mode. It's the same case with Legion 7i.

@@YourVardaan 16 512, so far it's good, battery is fine, the fans are loud(I guess it is a normal thing), even though it's only in performance mode. No issues with gaming. As far as I know, the mobo issue is limited to 13th and 14th gen Intel versions, so you'll probably be fine.

Well in custom settings you can set the cpu on 85 watt and gpu on 115 meaning that the 230 watt might not be still enough because the adapter wattage .

That's not how it works my guy. When CPU + GPU both are active max combined power is 165W. This is the absolute max (on average it's around 135W). CPU alone ~ 80W GPU alone ~ 115W Both combined ~150W

Then the second time i had taken screen shots of my battery percentages. I told them that I have proof. They went again trying to say that this is feature so I did tell them that I had an ideapad gaming before and this never happened. Told them i updated my bios and stuff already and calibrated the battery as well. Then they finally agreed and told me to make a video. I played cyberpunk 2077 at the highest settings. With screen recording it drained 10 percent in about 40 mins. Sent them the video and within 3 days got the new charger.

Bro how do u maintain your temps like that , mine easily exceeds 83 C and even reaches 86 C and shuts off completely some times (on charger and performance mode with medium in-game graphics settings). 86C is not even high bro. If it's a repeating pattern then try to call for a technician. These chips are designed to operate at 95-100C without any negative impact. Now it could be due to the power adapter.. I'm not 100% sure. Regarding cooling - applying a lower power limit + undervolting is the best method. I don't use any CPU/GPU without undervolting.

I purchased LOQ i5 RTX 3050 , I observed battery drop while playing cs2 I did not know it was a issue but after watching your video I ubderstood and i will contact Lenovo for adapter

My Loq drains battery when in conservation mode. But it does not drop when in charging mode and I have 170 w charger. I guess its fine
