Josh, nice review. I have a google nest hub, I am waiting for for the max to come out. It just makes more sense in my case. But my all time favorite for a basic assistant is my google mini. Small out of the way device for my bedside table. See ya when the nest hub max comes out. Thanks

I'm disappointed that you can't put a date on the screen, and it doesn't seem liek you can change the size/style of the clock when looking at background photos

I am getting it for the kitchen. @ 99 dollars worth it. Its for my mom to learn new recipes and to control the smart lights not much else.

Lenovo does not output bluetooth audio ( disabled ). While all the Google nests can.

I was given one of these and looking at how to set it up. Any suggestions? I also need a power supply. I understand it takes a 20 watt 1.5 amp AC power supply. I would appreciate it if someone could direct me to the setup manual.

it does not support hulu but can you cast it to the device through chromecast like you can with the nest hub?

I have the Lenovo Smart Display and love it... my problem is another Lenovo Product... I just purchased a Lenovo 700 Ultraportable Speaker, which I bought as it supposedly works with Google Assistant. My problem is that I can't get Google Assistant to open. The speaker will open up Siri on my Iphone, but I want to play my music on Google Play Music and use it like my existing Google Speakers and be able to ask Hey Google and get my music played. I can't find out what I am doing wrong. Are you able to help here?

I have the smart display with Google assistant. When it answers a question it stays on screen for less than a minute. That makes it hard to copy the information. Is there any way to delay it?

Mines did too. So I guess I have to get the Google Max. I have the google nest in my bedroom, and it’s pretty solid. However the Lenovo that was working in my kitchen to me was better with google search’s and music.

Is it easy to switch between recipes and KZbin videos? It would be perfect if I could do one step, watch a video for a bit until I need to move on to the next instruction and then switch back without it losing where I was in the vid/recipe

Yes, it’ll hold the place your in for a recipe and same thing as media playing like a KZbin video.

@@6MonthsLater Amazing! I've ordered one second-hand now, almost a year since I left this comment. Not a lot of people making update reviews for this device in 2020, especially considering this was the first GHome Smart Display to release. I hope it works out well.

I am having a issue now where it is displaying photography pictures and I want to display my photos.

You'll need to go into the settings of the Lenovo display in the Google Home app and look for a setting called "Photo Frame." Select that than then select Google Photos as the place you want the pics to come from. You'll then be able to chose the albums of pictures you want displayed on the Lenovo display.

Worked fine for a few months and then an update rendered this smart display into useless pile of garbage. Sometimes it won't detect the hot word, at other times it will be listening for no apparent reason. The overall sucess rate is at about 30-50% now - waaaaay below industry averages and totally unaceptable. Unless you're right next to the device, yelling at the top of your lungs - forget it. To add to the frustration, both Lenovo and Google support have been extremely unhelpful. I have been sending feedback through the device itself for months now - not a peep back. Numerous reports via the google home app - silence. Posts here in the Lenovo forum - just as useful. Bottom line - I cannot recommend this device unless you love the sweet pain and frustration it has to offer. Avoid like the plague!
