Here is my unboxing and first look at the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid from CES 2024. It delivers true 2 in 1 functionality by combining a traditional 14 inch laptop that can convert into two separate machines. You have a stand alone android tablet when the display is removed and a keyboard dock that is a fully operational laptop when connected to a display.

This is basically a modern day Microsoft Surface Book but with a nod to the decade-old Asus Transformer Book hybrid. I definitely would love to own this hybrid, even though a cheaper option with less powerful Windows CPU would be a welcome addition. What would be a true killer feature is the ability to boot the Windows partition directly to a secondary screen á la Raspberry Pi400.

Can the laptop switch to Android OS without detaching so that I can type in Android with the physical keyboard? If so, will that utilize both batteries to extend life in Android mode?

I have major problems with the attach-/Detachmechanism. I can not detach it without thinking that I am breaking the device :D You said something about a physical look button. I did not understand correctly what you meant by it. Do i need to press F11 when I want to detach the Tablet? In the delivered Description nothing is said about a physical look button. You just pull it off in the 90 degrees angle.
