It's a very good laptop , good battery life , fast and well built. 16 GB 512 SSD .

The biggest difference between the E15 and E16 is indeed the screen, but you won't go into it further. The biggest difference is the aspect ratio: E15 = 16:9 (1920x1080) vs E16 = 16:10 (1920x1200). This way you have more vertical space and you have to scroll less often. The different ratio of the screen means that the E16 has slightly different dimensions than the E15. However, it hasn't gotten bigger or smaller.

I did list the resolution, but yes, that means the aspect ratio is also different. Thanks for bringing it up!

Anyone with an Intel based E16 Gen1, there are no full-sized SSD options, only the 2242 sized.

Is the quality worse than for T16? On the Lenovo website the T16 Gen 1 costs 2000€ while the E16 costs 1000€ with similar RAM, storage, screen and battery. The main difference I can see on paper is in the CPU, but that does not justify this price gap!
@zeus1117
@zeus1117 8 ай бұрын
nope, the T-series is overpriced cause they historically sold more items. Pricing on Lenovo website has nothing to do with actual quality.

In your opinion which thinkpad is better for travelling. Main concern is, it has to be very light but that can also perform using microsoft office programs, etc

Hey man whats that palmrest feel like? Is it metal or plastic, or that rubbery stuff they were putting on ThinkPads for a while that made it look greasy?

I’ve been told by another reviewer that the keyboard deck on the E16 is plastic but a good quality plastic with a nice feel. On the CTO site, the option for an aluminum bottom only pertains to the bottom plate/cover, not the keyboard deck. So only the lid and bottom plate/cover are aluminum.

@@Agtsmirnoff If you are customizing the laptop, it gives two options for Base Cover Material - PC/ABS and Aluminum. Which is better?
@Agtsmirnoff
@Agtsmirnoff 4 ай бұрын
@@shiftenterspacebar I only have the aluminum one, but I have a previous gen E15 laptop with plastic, so I am assuming it is the same as would be on the E16. The aluminum I believe is lighter, but I feel the plastic actually feels better to the touch and make the laptop feel more robust and durable

So HDMI 1.4b... Which means it's not possible to get 4K@60Hz on an external monitor, right? I'm really leaning to get this laptop as it's on sale in my country, but this might be a deal breaker for me.

Hi dude, I got E16 for recent days, but there is an issue due to the small electric current noise around CPU thermal components, hearing that the noise would be from chip inductors or mosfets , does anyone meet same issue ?

I am thinking between this one, and i5 1335U, but 24GB RAM. It is 37$ more expensive. Which one should I go for? Benchmarks seem better for single core for the i5, and the 24GB RAM is good.

Just got this laptop a few days ago, cracking performance. I was wondering, for Uni reasons I will need to install the other M.2 in the coming week. Do I need to apply thermal pads to it so it makes contact with the chassis? If so, what thickness?

@@Agtsmirnoff I’ve been using an E420 for 10+ years and I love the keyboard. Lenovo has just launched ThinkPad E14 (Gen 6) and E16 (Gen 2). I plan to buy an Intel version soon. I’m considering the 16 inch laptop but I’m not sure about the typing experience on it. Is the 16 inch keyboard as good as that of a 14 inch model?

@@shiftenterspacebar Again, can only compare to the older E590 (not E15) model I previously owned. And no, the keyboard is not very good compared to older Thinkpad keyboards. Still good but is noticeably worse than previous gens. Smaller keys, slightly less travel, not as nice to type with.
