Like any reviewer, you forgot to mention the single most important piece of information about these laptops. It's 'Made in China'. Don't buy into control and surveillance if you want freedom.

WTF, the software is still Windows (or Linux), and they're not gonna waste performance sending data through the firmware.

The phone you're using is made in China and/or assembled there, and yet you're here, using it to post the most nonsense comment I've ever read in a while.

@Xardimods don't assume. It will make an ass out of you and me: my phone is made and assembled in Vietnam. Next!

Most laptops _are_ made in China, and even if this isn't the case, any other country like the US can spy on you as much as China can. If you are genuinely concerned about software spying on you, I would encourage you to take a look at Linux, as Windows, though not made in China, can and will spy on you. If you are concerned about a laptop's very firmware containing spyware, which in my opinion is unlikely but possible, take a look at laptops by System 76 as I think their firmware is open source.

If China can spy on you, then so can any other country. It is not nonsensical to be concerned about surveillance. If you actually are, then make sure you have changed your operating system to a Linux distribution, as Windows, though not made in China, can still collect data about you. Even then, there is still the underlying firmware below the operating system that could spy on you, which is unlikely but still possible. If you are concerned about that, then take a look at laptops by System 76 as their firmware is open source.
