DESCRIPTION
Welcome to HowFixit! In this video, I'll take you through a step-by-step guide on how to disassemble Lenovo ThinkPad T440p laptop, clean its fans, and replace the thermal paste. Our comprehensive tutorial will equip you with the knowledge of fixing laptop overheating issues. From disassembling your laptop to cleaning the fan and heatsink from dust and applying thermal paste, we've got you covered. Say goodbye to overheating and hello to improved performance!
* Laptop Disassembly Guide:
Disassembling your laptop may seem daunting, but I'll break it down into easy-to-follow steps. You'll learn how to remove the laptop's casing, locate and clean the heatsink and fans, and access to CPU for thermal paste replacement. By following this guide, you'll gain a deeper understanding of your laptop's internals and how to keep it running smoothly.
* Fan Cleaning Techniques:
Dust and debris can accumulate in your laptop's fans and heatsink over time, leading to reduced airflow and increased temperatures. I'll show you effective methods to clean your laptop using an antistatic brush and proper handling techniques. By keeping your cooling system clean, you'll prevent overheating and extend the lifespan of your laptop.
* Thermal Paste Replacement:
Thermal paste plays a crucial role in transferring heat from the laptop's CPU and GPU to the heatsink. However, over time, a thermal paste can dry out and lose its effectiveness. I'll guide you through the process of removing the old thermal paste and applying a fresh, high-quality one. This step is vital for optimal heat dissipation and temperature management. Don't let an overheating laptop slow you down! Watch this comprehensive guide and take control of your laptop's temperature. By performing regular fan cleaning and thermal paste replacement, you'll ensure smooth operation, prevent hardware damage, and extend the life of your laptop. Hit the play button now and let's get started!

It doesn't seem that clever to clean the fan with the laptop under. The dust goes into the open computer instead.

It's just a demo video, I think it's quite logical to clean the dust away from the laptop

The scary part to me is disconnecting the cooler's power: that connector is tiny and hard to access.

Why is there a 4400 graphics card on the t440p, while on the lenovo home page is 4600?choose 2 card video or 1 ?

If your laptop has Intel 4400 probably your model is T440, not T440p (T440 specs: support.lenovo.com/ua/en/solutions/pd100264) There couldn't be installed 4600 to T440, or 4400 to T440p because actually this GPU is intergrated to CPU, while T440 has iX-4xxxU CPU and T440p has iX-4xxxM CPU. If your CPU doesn't match official specification maybe motherboard of you laptop was previously replaced (I don't sure if it's possible, but I suppose it does). p.s. T440p specs: support.lenovo.com/ua/en/solutions/pd100280

Yeah, but the replacement parts with heat pipe cost ~60 Euro. Only the fan costs 20 Euro. I bought the fan and will replace it, but the video is like... why he didn't just use the middle of the cam :D
