Lisa, I love your reviews. Clear, crisp English which I as have English as a second language really appreciate. Nice review of everything you need to know about this computer. I just need a laptop with touch and it seems that this Yoga is the cheapest touch-screen on the Swedish market. Thank you Lisa for this great review!

Actually the caching SSD wasn't missing from your unit. The 16GB cache drive is integrated in with the 500GB HDD (a hybrid drive.) That blank slot you had labeled as the missing caching SSD is, amazingly, an open empty space. If you buy the 16GB+500GB version, you can very easily add a notebook SSD right into that blank space and still keep your 500GB in there for general storage if you want to. That hybrid HDD is also not a standard 2.5" drive --- you can't just go to the store to get a replacement so easily just yet. It's a new type of 5mm thin drive that has a different connector setup than standard SATA drives. I'm not sure if this is proprietary to Lenovo or just a rare type of drive being introduced to market.

As a person who has had the 11.6 inch 4th generation i5 Lenovo yoga since December I absolutely love this computer it's very convenient and cool and couldn't recommend it enough and this one looks to be even better Lenovo definitely knows what they're doing my only gripe would be WiFi connectivity isn't all that great mainly when you wake the computer up from sleeping! it doesn't seem to keep the connection so you constantly have to reconnect every time you put it to sleep but all in all it is a great computer I know they don't sell it anymore so your next best bet would be to get this model
@SniperReady10 жыл бұрын
That's sort of true of all laptops, metalcrip89 . Don't despair, it isn't your laptop malfunctioning! A slow reconnection can be rooted out with updated drivers or with a better router. You can try installing Lenovo's drivers for your WiFi card, or if you have them, try removing them and then using the Windows drivers that install when you restart. One might perform better for you!
@luc797610 жыл бұрын
SniperReady I do see differences. On some I don't have to reconnect ever. Not sure if it's software driver or hardware issue but some are worse than others it seems.

I'm using one right now and I have a few things to say about it. I can't hold it like an Ipad without feeling like my hand is breaking the keyboard. The weight of it presses my fingers into the keys and I'm always conscious of how delicate the keyboard feels. Secondly, the machine's SD Card slot only holds about 50% of the SD Card. which is awkward I find. Overall I really like it. The versatility is useful in everyday situations too

Hi Lisa, I did the upgrade from W8.1 to W10. Atfer that, the LY2, did not recognize the wi fi signals. I fixed it so easy, but it is a bad detail for an Lenovo or other recognized brans. After that issue, it has worked well. I dont have complains. Thanks

Hi Lisa, I had a quick question about how SSD upgrades work, particularly how I get Windows 8 over onto the SSD as it was on the traditional HDD in which I will receive it. My biggest fear of course is reinstalling 8 onto an SSD and the Yoga not having that program which tells it what mode it is in, and turning it into a regular laptop. What are the steps involved? I am really shamed in asking this because I am a Network Engineer and I don't know this.

I did read that the main disk connector is not standard mSATA but a a special connector (SFF-8784), so one currently cannot easily pop in a standard SSD. However people have added SSDs (not for caching only) in the M.2 slot.

The hinge on this computer breaks. I had to take it to the repair shop and they couldn't find a solution to it, but only to change the screw on it. However, every time i change it into tablet mode the hinge keeps breaking and I can literally see the inside of it.On the third month of buying it the hinge just broke on me without a reason every time I changed the position mode. I tried tightening the screw and didn't help at all. I am very disappointing on this matter. I still haven't finished paying it off and I am already spending extra money on it to get it repaired. It is only the left side that is broken, I just wish someone told me about this defect in Lenovo Yoga's.
@borisknapp99119 жыл бұрын
+Jennifer Sanchez This sounds like a warranty case. I bought mine 6 weeks ago and so far I haven't had any issues with the hinge. Looks very sturdy to me and I'm changing modes quite often. I did however have some software issues since I upgraded to Win 10 but that's a different story...
