Is there a difference in the size and screw hole position etc. between a g50 and a z50? I have a g50-70 with a unsavable motherboard and I'm thinking of buying a used z50-70 for spare parts. Judging from the video the size and everythibg should fit, shouldn't it?

Hi there, thanks for the detailed step by step disassemble video but I stucked at one point. In your video at 3:30 when you lifted up your keyboard next to the cable there is a whole in your vide in here I've a fixed (like a secured) pin which was holded the keyboard as well but more likely hold together the whole or the motherboard. I tried to broke it down but I was afraid of mayne will damage other parts inside so I gave up. Any idea what should I do?

The best way to disassemble this laptop is just by using it. After a while it will dissasemble itself lol

Hey, you can look the connector in video at 6:01. It is not common for this connector to become loose itself. Firstly of course check the sound drivers in Device manager.

Laptop disassembly i have done everything with the driver,nothing works.problem is,windows is showing that there are speakers connected but no sound is coming from speakers,headphones works fine.any advice??

You can also check that speaker output is not on some kind of digital output option. If all seems normal still, speakers or cable may be defective - need to open up the computer :) To test the speakers, you can connect a pair of speaker wires to some kind of speaker output (for example to 3,5mm "standard" computer speaker output) and set the sound very low at the beginning to avoid any damage.

Do you have a free space for a memory module? The bits he removes around 0:40 are the RAM. If you have 8gb and it's on one module you can buy another 8gb and put that in the other slot. If you have 2x4gb modules, you'd have to take them both out and buy 2x8gb modules.

i actually replaced the entire chassis on this one and also changed from amd mother board to a better one with an i7 and nvidia graphics chip. bought it from china and it was stronger than the original one. after replacing it, the laptop had much less flex in it and that will also protect the battery and harddrive much better. the original chassis has way to much flex that you can damage both the battery and the mechanical harddrive as it flexes way to much. now it is much better and is no longer the worst quality laptop i ever owned.
