I would say that the 35mm AF lens would be a better choice for me since I have an XE1 camera. I had heard about its poor autofocus, but experiencing it myself was shocking; I found I had better handling with digicams compared to it. That being said, the learning curve was fast, and I was able to capture great shots. Having autofocus would improve my XE1 experience

Thanks for sharing. I think this 35mm af lens hunts for the accurate focus from time to time, but overall it has decent af performance.

I have the 7Artisans 35mm f1.2 MF lens (FX mount) in my Street Photography bag and it produces very nice images if you have time to focus. I tried Zone Focusing with this lens but there is only a few degrees of rotation between 1.5m and 3m and infinity and trying to set focus at 2m was difficult and any slight bump would change the focus so the Zone Focusing was a complete failure but, it looks good and it was very reasonably priced. So, as soon as it was released, I bought the 35mm f1.8 AF lens and I am very happy with the performance of this lens. I am satisfied with the AF speed and accuracy and impressed at how they managed to keep the weight and size down yet still have a wide aperture.

Thanks for sharing! I think both ttartisan and 7artisans produce many decent quality lenses with great value/price!

Actually I love to use 1.4 on my Fuji XT20. It’s so underrated lens. Honestly I must say it has a very big longitudinal chromatic aberration, but can be fixed extremely fast in Darkroom (free lightroom app but has a lot more options-highly recommend it for manual lenses, it even has correction for Helios 44). I must say that it can do a lot of magic when shooting portraits at 2.8 when there’s a lot of sun behind. This lens can do some crazy magic with contrast being powerful and washed out and I never seen anything like this before. I highly recommend 1.4 for weekend photos but AF seems better for quick reportage. Great vid

Thanks for sharing! This f1.4 is one of my favorite manual lenses too, it's easy to focus, sharp enough and very compact.

Very informative video for someone like me who's eager to buy a budget lens from TTArtisan. Heard a lot of good reviews about the MF 35mm f/1.4 until I saw there's an AF version as well. Although admittedly, I'm still having a hard time choosing between these two. What made it harder is that we are using the same camera. I want to maximize my ZV-E10 but the price gap between the two are miles ahead of each other. Here in the Philippines, the MF costs just around PhP 3.3K (NT$ 1.8K) while the AF is around PhP 8K (NT$ 4.5K). It's harder because I do both photo and video. The shooting distance + bokeh of the MF looks so good but the stabilization of the AF matters too. So hard to be a photographer and videographer at the same time!

For videos, I'd say the manual lens is not easy to use because you don't have stabilization, and as you move the camera, the focus changes too. I think the af lens will be more convenient for video.

Thanks for letting me know the importance of minimum focus distance!! I didn’t realise it matters to bokeh before!

Happy to help! The closer the subject is to your camera and further from the background, the larger bokeh you get.

I have got the Meike 35mm1.7 I use it with ZVE10. The bad thing is that when you go to f2 or f1.7 the contrast drops and it doesnt look OK.
@ConstantineSPhotography Жыл бұрын
If you use f1.7, does it look ok on instagram? Or only not good when you zoom in?
@procamara359 Жыл бұрын
@@ConstantineSPhotography It doesn't look nice to me, the image looks very low contrast and washed. I would like to see a zoom lens like the sigma 18_50 2.8 but cheaper by some of the those companies.

I wonder the difference between ttartisan 35 mm 1.8 af and sony 35mm 1.8 oss

I don't have the sony lens to test, but there's a 3 times price gap, so I guess budget decides everything.
