Wait, £36 for over 3 hours in first class and included your food and drink too, that's a frigging steal!
@Skawagon3 жыл бұрын
Well, it depends. You can do the same journey with a competing company in very good comfort (but not with this level of the reclining trough) and with comparable service (without the meal included in the price, but with ample options to choose from an affordable menu) for half the price of this ticket. So for a local, the Leo can be a hard sell. And it is. The company was struggling financially even before corona hit and continues to burn cash. But the positive outcome for a passenger is that they focus on delivering a very good level of service to win passenger over.

@@Skawagon You're so knowledgeable ! And it is a very good analysis there ! But ,if the ride is gonna be more than 2 hrs,maybe 3hrs max ( 3 to 5 hr trip with a chair with better paddings will make a huge difference on my back )I prefer the better chairs 💺! 💜🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶💞

@@spark_6710 I can completely agree with that, but really, the competing product I meant is Business class in Regiojet - running used OEBB coaches, those are coupes for four people - two facing two, so you are in one space with fewer people. And there are quiet coupes to choose there too. Absolute bliss if you have to travel tired. Seats are older, but retrimed and very comfortable very adequate for travel up to three hours.
@70M45-c9r3 жыл бұрын
Well you need to conider a few things: 1. In czechia is everything cheaper 2. The same trip in the same (or similar) speed you can ride for £7,34 if using RegioJet, Or If you will just sit in the Leo express in the economy class it will cost you 12,02 and it will include wifi and such...So in comparsion to the price, this isn't probably worth it (At least for czechs...)

@@spark_6710 My big problem with LE Premium is that I actually don't find the seat comfortable. Of course it's big, it reclines a lot but I always feel like I'm sinking inside it and can't find a comfortable way to sit in it. I'm from the Czech Republic, so thx for this amazing review! Leo(s) are fantastic and many people love them! But believe me, that our trains here were not always like that. The situation was sometimes disgraceful as they were too many out-of-date trains (esp. from the era of occupation), dirty and "smelly". Everything started slowly getting better after 2000 when Regio Jet came on the scene. They were first real concurrent for České Dráhy with much more comfort, so ČD's quality must have been improved over the years quite drastically as well (buying new vehicles, locomotives, many reconstructions, etc.)! Leo Ex is the youngest private company. Those 3, ČD, RJ and Leo, are the main ones and there's a big competition between them, which is great for us, customers. This continuously helps to improve standards of travelling by train here, which is good cause trains have such a long history here in the CZ. :) Wish you many happy kilometres/miles and stay safe, man! :)

First of all, you might create a series of compilations of what are, in your opinion, the best train rides in each country you've visited so that potential visitors can plan an itinerary; secondly, you might focus for one short video on the mechanics of booking the train reservations, picking the best carrier, and purchasing tickets, as well as tips on how to save money doing it. Oh ...I HEAR YOU !! LOL.I have been planning our trip to Wales & England ( with my mom ), your rail ways & systems & prices are not great at all !!! It's so ~strange ! For instance,if I wanna go to the countryside there ,say Caernarfon, it makes sense for us to go there from Saundersfoot, or somewhere closer, but it'll take one hr longer ( on a train ) & more money ! I can't put my mom on a train for a long hr trip like 4 ,5 hrs too often as she gets real tired ,then our trip will need more rests = delays & $$$ ,so we have to go back to Cardiff & stay there for another night & go to Caernarfon from there !! Same thing goes to England ! We wanted to visit Cornwall & Devon ,but again ,faster & shorter trips from Londonby trains ,otherwise we'll have to fly , or drive ! If I drive ,everything will be so much faster & cheaper there in Britain & U.K. ! I am an excellent driver !! I drive like a man ! Lol. But, I am not stupid to drive in unfamiliar places !!! Especially I'll be the sole driver ! Besides ,everything will be on opposite side ( left side of the streets & freeways & highways ,then driving in the right seat !! ) !! If I can practice that for like 2 weeks ahead ,I might consider it ,but no luxury of that ! Lol. I was disappointed by those !! I thought that the train system was more advanced & sensible & reasonable in Wales & England !!! Not sure of Scotland, or Ireland, wonder if it's the same or better ,or worse !!? Lol.😫😞💜🥁🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶💞

Whilst SNCF on-board catering is now poor, the ride of the TGV is fantastic, especially when running flat out ! The OBB RailJets are also wonderful, but its the SNCF who have invested so heavily in high speed lines, and the resulting fast trains and short journey times are incomparable.

Another great video from your 2020 Summer in Europe and a great reveal on the standards of comfort offered by Leo Express and the Stadler Flirt series of trains. Happy Easter, by the way! I had a little chuckle when I saw the water feature in the Plaza at Ostrava. I wonder how many travellers have done a "Saint Peter" on this during dull lighting conditions. Reminded me of a time during my courier days when I did just that enroute to a delivery because of a distraction and went Splash!, much to the mirth of passers-by. What a disappointment you couldn't get the tiramasu to follow the duck and vegetables! I noticed the coffee following the two glasses of red (Good boy for wanting to keep relatively sober!) but I think I would have passed on the Cola (unless the airconditioning wasn't working). For entertainment downunder this Saturday evening, on "The Box" we had Great Scenic Rail Journeys with the dour Bill Nighy and this episode was on the Highland Line from Inverness to Edinburgh during winter. Your home Line! As well as this, just before viewing your video, I watched Pannier P Productions coverage of today's shuttle trips between Albury and Gerogery with the beautifully restored Pacific Loco 3801. So all in all a pleasant Easter Saturday for me. Our clocks go back one hour tonight to normal Eastern Standard Time, so I'm off to bed to get an extra hour's snooze. Looking forward to your next offering.

Dylan, love the video. Looks like you had a really comfortable ride on this day. I wish America would catch up with the rest of the world on train transportation.

Really enjoyed the video. That Premium class is definitely done to a excellent standard. Looked amazing. Only thought is, the Regio Jet that came in at the beginning of the video, is it just me or did he come in a bit too fast. Seemed to hammer the brakes as he got further down the platform. Anyways, keep the videos coming and stay safe.

It’s not fast, it’s kinda normal for these short train to come that fast, maybe it was delayed.

As a Swiss who is used to the SBB flirt trains it is an extremely strange sight to see these in this configuration but I like it.

Great review, as always! I've been waiting for this video for a long time :-D On my last trip, I was lucky that the Premium class was empty. But it also happened to me that some of the items on the Premium menu were unavailable. Btw. I don't understand why the lady with the child booked Premium class (which is marked as a Silent zone), when they wanted to talk :-D Greetings from Prague!

Thanks Pete! I was surprised it was full. If we had this in the UK, it'd probably be really expensive and empty.

@@DylansTravelReports Leo express trains are usually full because they have many price promotions. It's better to take the Leo express train, which runs from Staré město u Uherského Hradiště via Olomouc, because trains from Ostrava are usually full. Last time I had the whole Premium class for myself :-D

Just a little tip for all of you considering travelling with Leo Express. The sooner you book the ticket in advance, the better price you can get for it. I once travelled the same distance Dylan did in this video and the price was only around 300 CZK (12 EUR) for the whole trip in this First class. So plan ahead and you'll be rewarded :)

Yeah I paid just 50€ from Prague to Košice in Slovakia which is over 600km journey and I paid just 55€ for premium class so definitely worth it
